Re: Sonic Generations

Suggestion noted. I understand the subjectivity of opinion, but you... you are just plain wrong . Yes, that was a little harsh I guess. I see what they were going for with the rings, it's just a flop of execution. Like I said, the scoring in Colors baffles me. Of the S-ranks I did get (about 17 IIR...

Re: Sonic Generations

You're shown which red rings you've already collected on the map and at the bottom right of the screen during gameplay. And, as Esrever said, the ones you've already collected become transparent. They're not removed from the levels because they offer a lot of bonus points, making them an integral p...

Re: Sonic Generations

Is this the first gameplay video we've seen with the red rings? That system worked so well in Sonic Colours. The same red rings system that didn't bother to remove previously collected rings, resulting in confusion if you stop playing the game for any length of time? The red rings that unlocked not...

Re: Sonic Generations

And I am trying to resist the urge to beat my head on a wall after reading the last four posts. Yes, let's canonize something so trivial as completely different character designs and then mash them together with a car crusher at the end of the game, so none of our fans will be happy with the result ...

Re: Sonic Generations

Nope, Knux only, and you even have to press B to use it, not A. So like all of the game's weird moves, you'll probably only use it by accident. Out of the manual and offhand, everything Sonic can do in Advance 3: - He can roll, spindash, and go into boost mode with anybody - Spin Jump (all but Amy) ...

Re: It's Dr. Eggman's 20th Birthday.

I've just never liked Sonic Chaos. The art just seems totally bland and unmemorable, the level design wasn't great, and the final boss is the epitome of anticlimax. Not entirely, he does try to throw you off with lasers when you're bouncing on him, and his UFO mode can kill you instantly. The rest ...

Re:

Oh my god! That looks like the most fun in a Sonic game since, well, the original SA2 . I watched it 3 times in a row. I almost spat out my milk. Really? Since SA2? Try since Sonic & Knuckles. You know, a game that was actually fun. I have a lot of fun with SA2's Sonic and Shadow stages (except may...

Re: Sonic Generations

Ignoring every character except Sonic and Tails, Sonic Adventure was the most sincere attempt at translating Sonic to 3D gameplay. But Sonic Colours is still a better game by all other criteria. Oh, so that's why 90% of my experience with Colors was divided between: 1) Cursing out cheap deaths 2) F...

Re: Sonic Generations

I don't get the excitement about the PC version. Like I'm not against the game being available to more people, but it seems like people are really eager for there to be a PC version this time around. No one cared if there was a PC version of Unleashed. Are you guys just not on board with current-ge...

Re: Sonic Generations

The co-op could be more like NSMB Wii and Donkey Kong Country, so both characters stay on screen, have their own ring counters and items etc. Assuming it's also supposed to be a 2D Sonic game: > Player 1 tries to play game > Player 2 stops moving > Screen locks in place > Insert dozens of scenarios...

Or a more practical theory is that they've been fed garbage interpretations of whatever marketing believes fans are thinking, and they're only running off of that; and/or somebody with clout is seriously out of touch with reality. It's not the gameplay styles either. Most any problems with those can...

Re: Sonic Generations

Oh sweet lord, this is just precious: Can you discuss what systems will be represented on the 3DS version such as Game Gear? Game Gear? (Laughter) No. For the 3DS we wanted to go with systems of more recent memory. So we are more focused on levels from the GBA and DS. We're celebrating 20 years of S...

Ladies and gentlemen, the death of EA Sports

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6319589.html Over the past year and a half, Electronic Arts has launched a number of initiatives designed at pocketing more money from the games it sells. These programs include EA Sports' Online Pass, which erects a pay gate around online modes for those who play the la...

Re: Sonic Generations

I wonder if he remembers how well Sonic Adventure 2 Battle sold for a third-party Gamecube title, even though it was released long after Sonic's 10th birthday. They made SA2:B in roughly 5 months after the DC version's release, so i'm guessing that particular port was an attractive idea because it ...

Re: Sonic Generations

I haven't played SA2 in a while, but I recall that the truck would not hesitate to ram your ass if you slowed down too much, and only after hitting you would it slow down. (I once got it to temporarily back itself up the hill with some spindash-jumping antics and hitting its' collision box where it ...

Re: Sonic Generations

Neither is very impressive beyond the eye candy. The truck stalking Sonic in the classic stage was funny, but nothing else struck me as anything I would want to play or weren't already tired of in the last two games. Did anyone else happen to catch that the truck in the modern stage seems to deliber...

That too is questionable, seeing as the people using Brawl hacks have been used to doing this themselves for free. Still, my point was more that Brawl has been torn apart to the extent that it is highly unlikely Nintendo could have sustained any momentum with DLC for that game, in the state that it ...

Re: Guess the Sonic Generations Stages

Heroes would've sucked with or without multiple characters. Shadow was worse, and you can't really blame the guns for that. No you can't, but it was dramatically less glitchy than Heroes and still managed to be (probably by accident) entertaining and enjoyable in a sort of cheesy, mindless way. Her...

Re: Guess the Sonic Generations Stages

But at least Episode II has some appeal again! Unless it's been quietly cancelled. Mega Man Universe, as a reminder, underwent months of media silence before they finally made it official that the plug had been pulled. E3 may be coming up, but as embarrassingly long as it's been taking them to make...
