Re: New Sonic Adventure Album
Actually I don't care about the story in Sonic either, which is why I found it ridiculous that one would want it to be serious so badly. I was merely speaking about how an inherently silly character shouldn't be "miscast", so to speak. I find the very idea of caring about story in a video game absol...

Re: New Sonic Adventure Album
They never said he "enslaved" them or made them "mindless zombies". They simply sit inside the robots and power them. This is made especially obvious in Sonic Adventure 1 when Gamma blows himself up to release the little bird inside of him. Once again, you sound like you're mixing the games up with ...

Re: New Sonic Adventure Album
just saying he used to be a more competent villain with aspirations of a world-dictatorship. Please realize you're saying this about a trilogy of games where the character in question is depicted as a static sprite with two frames of animation at most and absolutely no in-game dialog, plus an instr...

Re: New Sonic Adventure Album
Robotnik was basically a technology-obsessed Hitler. lol No really, are we talking about the Genesis/Mega Drive games or SatAM? You sound like you're searching for what you want in all the wrong places. Or perhaps you're one of those people who seek out "dark undertones" in children's properties in...

Re: New Sonic Adventure Album
I don't see how a fast hedgehog battling evil is any more ridiculous than robot cars from another planet fighting each other in the middle of New York, a machine gun toting raccoon saving the galaxy or a group of pizza-eating turtles in combat with a japanese samurai.. there's plenty of ridiculous ...

So basically an entire game is playable? That's.....pretty mind-boggling, actually.

I still don't like how he's literally named "Duck Hunt".

Re: Ken Penders owns a bunch of Sonic's shitty sidekicks
Seems to me that suing Archie and/or Sega was just an extortion attempt and now he's shitting this thing out just because he technically has to.

Re: Interesting Sonic Team interviews
There's also an interview with Shiro Maekawa from 2006. It's badly translated, but it seems Maekawa was the driving force behind the story of the Adventure games. He wasn't a fan of the Mega Drive games as he felt they didn't suit the character, so for the Adventure series he decided to remake the ...

Re: New Sonic game for 2015
In an environment that supports well-dressed characters like "Fastidious Beaver" and Mayor Fink, you'd think the resources would exist for Sonic and Co. to have footwear that isn't held together with tape. I mean, this is a society where even elderly jellyfish are endowed with mechanical walker bod...

Re: We few, we happy, we Smash Bros. in arms.
Robin is a spellcaster. He doesn't even use his sword as a sword . He shoots lighting out of it. Pit uses a bow that splits into two small blades. That barely counts. Some of his moves in this outing have also been replaced with non-sword weapons from Uprising. So that only leaves Link, Marth, Ike, ...

Re: New Sonic game for 2015
Having four different versions of the character right from the beginning turned out to be kind of unhealthy for the franchise in the long run, didn't it?

A better question is how did you get them? An auction site? Someone who lives in Japan? How much were they in total?

You never know. The fact that they still have yet to show us Ridley or even mention him by name is kinda fishy.

Re: Popcorn needed
There's no way that news about a "dark, edgy" live-action Sonic movie is real. If Sega's current method of operation is anything to go by, any Sonic movie they make will likely be animated and all-ages.

It really wouldn't be that much of a stretch if they went back to that color scheme for Mario, honestly.
