Along the same lines, I'd say that Batmanesque image of Sonic as a humanoid that you could access through Sonic CD's sound test.

I thought the supporting cast had interesting enough personalities, but it was ultimately irrelevant since they decided to devote ninety percent of the character interaction to just Squall and Rinoa.

The difference is that Japanese games have widespread appeal, whereas no one except a Briton would likely care about Kintobor.

Excite Truck is sort of a sequel to Excite Bike.

In fact, a fanartist (or " doujinshi mangaka ") Wow, can you teach me Japanese? I want so badly to be kawaii! ^_^;; Ah Bridget. The shota-con wet dream and the lola-con's nasty surprise. What sort of a world would we be in without a little boy dressed up as a nun? Not one I want to live in. Everyon...

Yeah, a platform game with no jumping...isn't. Bionic Commando's grappling hook gets by on a technicality.

Reminds me of how the Republican Party ran ads supporting Nader in 2000. I'll definitely be getting a Wii this fall. I've got my eyes on Super Mario Galaxy, WarioWare, Smash Brothers, and the Virtual Console. The only PS3 game that's really garnered my interest is Metal Gear Solid 4, and that won't ...

Zarathustra wrote:Why does that Shinobi character use a scarf either?
Because Shinobi is a fucking ninja. If Rikku were to start running up walls and slashing up hordes of enemies in an instant, she could keep her stupid scarf.

That footage actually makes Rivals look pretty good. I saw evidence of a lot of alternate paths, as well as zero bottomless pits. The physics are clearly janky with regard to gravity and momentum, but I'd expect that to be ironed out prior to release. The only thing that still bothers me about this ...

I'm glad they didn't doll Samus up in tons of makeup to match what she looked like in Zero Mission. And I'm about as excited about Pit's appearance as I am about Snake's; until now, the poor kid has been consistently left out of even the most indulgent of Nintendo's nostalgia fests. Now all we need ...

FF Versus XIII will be headed by Nomura and the teams behind Advent Children and Kingdom Hearts II. This hopefully means that all the angsty crap will be confined to that game (along with Nomura's leather fetish), leaving the main game clean.

Check it. Low-res, but I'd say it's at least on par with the FFVII tech demo from last year. Definitely superior to Advent Children, at any rate.

It would make much more sense as a prequel than a sequel, but I think Ueda has gone on record as saying that the stories are for all intents and purposes unconnected. All the same, I would play ICO first, since it was made first. Then, when you play Colossus, you'll be able to appreciate all the evo...

Exactly. We're at the graphics horizon. Graphics are going to reach a point where they can only look so good. We're nearly at photorealism now. You can't have "better" graphics than that. Actually, I think we're still a long way from photorealism. Even MGS4, which looks incredible, is very easily d...

I'm quite surprised to see they brought back the SMB3 boss music in that Bowser fight though, it never really seemed like a stand-out track to me. Darn, the mention of Bowser made me think you were referring to the SMB3 final boss track, which I love. Unfortunately, it's just the normal one,...

In my extremely narrow and close-minded view of the series, its roots do not involve tired exploitative cash-ins like Shadow or overall shitty derivative character designs like Mr. White.

Rask the Wolf? Bailey the Manatee? Illusion the shotgun-toting Demonhog? I can't wait to see how this ...
