Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

Honestly, they should just do away with the whole concept of lives. That's one of the things that Rayman Origins and Legends did right. Do we know how far back a Game Over sends you in Lost World ? To the beginning of the level you died at? Since your last save? Sending you back that far after you ...

Re: SONIC HYDRO THUNDER

I've gained a new fondness for 06. I still think the game is awful, but I really like the desert level. The Princesses' power gimmick that lets Sonic walk on quicksand means you can actual explore the level without fear of dying and the stage does a good job of hiding alternative routes which are g...

SONIC HYDRO THUNDER

http://www.vgleaks.com/new-sonic-game-in-works-for-xbox-one-ps4-and-wii-u-sonic-thunderstorm-or-sonic-blue-thunder/ a new rumor has emerged regarding a multiplatform sonic game. I spat my drink out when I read some of these fan fic worthy details. Slash the Echidna? Teenage clones? Yes fucking please!

Re: New Sonic Cartoon

Like Eserver, I also think these are the future designs for the Sonic games. Consider: 1) Sega's paying for the cartoon, so presumably they want it to promote the game. In this context, it doesn't make sense for the games and cartoons to have different designs. 2) Takashi Iizuka is involved with th...

Re: New Sonic Cartoon

I'm not really talking about visual cliches per se, I'm just talking about using visual design variation of any kind to convey character. Stuff like the Sailor Scouts and the Power Rangers, or, like, the Care Bears and My Little Pony, use tweaks on a single design because they are prioritizing conv...

Alright guys, took a stab at these silhouettes. Near as I can tell they're all wearing life jackets. If this is the best case scenario, it does not bode well. http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn220/Echidnajig/1380734648550_zpsa01c1337.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn220/Echidnajig/ScreenS...

Re: The Sonic OVA is rare now

I remember sorrrta liking heroes when it came out. I seem to remember thinking the levels felt very sparse looking/unfinished and that the bosses were lame. I wasn't bothered at all at the incessant chatter between teammates like I am now though. This probably isn't a discussion that should get star...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

I just played the first one. Maybe my experience was colored by the guy who was standing next to the demo: A thing that happens as you play is that a thing pops up on the screen occasionally that suggests something about the screen on the controller, like maybe I should look at it. I'd get to a "sa...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

The bomb power up was also strangely selective about what I could pick up with, some enemies it would grab, and others it would bounce off of (with me losing rings in the process!), which seemed really arbitrary. For what they took from Mario Galaxy, they didn't really take as much of a sense of po...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

On a second playing, Sonic Colours is easily one of the top 3 Sonic games. Being able to access the additional colour powers not only removes the repetitiveness, but massively increases the exploration. The game actively encourages players to think outside of the box when exploring, to look not onl...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

Hey guys, I went to the event this weekend and spent a lot of time playing both the WIIU and 3DS versions of the game. It's shaping up nicely and depending on how much they tighten it come october(knowing our guys, not at all) it could be a quality title. It also looks like a Sonic movie might be fa...

This game still looks as bizarre as ever. I cant for the life of me figure out how it will actually play from the footage and the cutcenes look like they're from the DC era. I really enjoyed ivy the kiwi and appreciated let's tap, so I guess I'll just wait and see on this one.

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

I agree! Egg Dragoon was probably my favorite boss fight in the game. It had some good character dialogue too, making the Sonic Heroes-started "everybody chatters all day every day" deal work for it with Eggman's contempt for Sonic shining through. Generations' rendition was awful. It was like the ...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

Egg Dragoon isn't particularly hard, it's just pointlessly drawn out with that old "you can't hurt me until I leave my glowing green crotch in your reach" routine. But it wouldn't be a Werehog level if it didn't take forever, amirite? I actually. . . really liked this boss fight. The objectives wer...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

Doomsday zone is actually very much in line with the rest of the game from a playability stand point. The only difference is that you are forced forwards and have a limited amount of time to succeed in the form of the ring counter. Is this really true? Seems to me it was completely different, playi...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

It's weird. I always loved Super Sonic as a bonus, but it's tough after Doomsday Zone came along to make a mainline game without an equivalent Super Powered fight. I only felt it was forced from Sonic Heroes onward, but maybe it was a bad thing in the long run? In a broad comic booky way, I'm a fan...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

It's so bizarre to agree completely with almost everything Iizuka has said in this interview. Usually I roll my eyes at his comments and peg him as the reason the series has gone down hill. But all that noise about slowing the game down, simplifying the visuals, and giving two jump buttons really so...

Other then that any spare time I have to game is usually spent on PSO2. Since PSOBB was one of my most influential games and I had so many great memories, I was really drawn to get back into the series and meet up with old friends. However I could pretty much write a laundry list of reasons PSO2 is...

Re: New Sonic Cartoon

The funny part is, American and Canadian studios switched to Flash-style animation so they could afford to do all the animation in house instead of overseas... but now the overseas studios have also switched and are doing most of it anyway. This is the problem when there are no measures in place to...
