Re: Hayao Miyazaki Compares iPad Use To Masturbation
Paranoia Agent wasn't produced in high definition. It was made during that unfortunate period in the early aughts where digital animation was in its infancy, but most companies where producing shows at DVD resolution. Even if it does get released on blu-ray, the content would just be upscaled, which...

Re: Hayao Miyazaki Compares iPad Use To Masturbation
GG!, you still haven't seen Paranoia Agent? You should get on that. It may just be a TV series, but I'd say it's one of the only ones that even comes close to rivaling Cowboy Bebop in terms of quality, albeit for different reasons. In fact, I just recovered a fascinating article about the series whi...

Re: You passed time with Catherine
Yeah, those are the sort of nods and winks I'm afraid of missing. I hate being out of the loop. Well, if you're concerned about not understanding every little reference to the Shin Megami Tensei series as a whole, most people are going to be just as out of the loop as you are. Most of the games hav...

Re: Hayao Miyazaki Compares iPad Use To Masturbation
Relatively off-topic, but I would like to point out that Madhouse's latest anime movie, Summer Wars, is better than half of Studio Ghibli's catalogue, including a lot of Miyazaki's movies. Seriously. You all need to watch it, like, now. I'm going to be very upset if it doesn't get nominated for best...

Re: You passed time with Catherine
Man, it would be great if they got Steve Blum, wouldn't it? Is it actually a spin-off? It's obviously got the same visual style, which I've always liked even though I've never been a fan of the series, but I was hoping it wasn't really related to the Persona mythos which I am largely ignorant of. Wh...

You passed time with Catherine
Atlus has announced a new spin-off from the Persona series titled "Catherine." Perhaps the most interesting thing about the game, apart from the fact that it appears to depict actual sexual content rather than smash cutting to a black screen powered by your own imagination, is that isn't about a bu...

The most fun my friends and I generally have on LBP is in those custom made battle death arenas where you fly around in jetpacks hurling various weapons at each other. Definitely an optimal use of the game's structure.

Re: Spectacular Spider Man-Your friendly neighborhood hero.
I'm sure that anyone who's interested has pirated it by now, but the episode with the opera fight scene (Gangland) will finally be making its US television premiere tonight on Disney XD at 9pm ET. If you only catch one episode of the series, make it this one. (Also, join the Keep 'The Spectacular Sp...

Re: Disney buys Marvel
If nothing else, this is a fairly good sign for Spectacular Spider-Man . Weisman explained, "Sony is NO LONGER involved with The Spectacular Spider-Man. I'm informed that Marvel can now produce the series, but of course, they don't have to." Weisman noted he had "no clue" as to what Sony gained reg...

I don't think that topping Black Knight is going to be very difficult.Wombatwarlord777 wrote:That's the risk you take in sequels, I guess. Rather than trying to top Black Knight, I'd be pleased if this movie stood really well by itself.

Re: Project Trico?
The name seems to imply this takes place after SoTC, if the baby colossus is the last of them. I think your other theory on the critter being a reincarnation of Dormin seems pretty spot-on, but we'll see. I'm sure it will tie to the other games some how. And hey look, the kid isn't dark-skinned any...

Oh don't worry. I'm sure the creature will just turn out to be Dormin and the game will end with the main character being forced to rip the soul from his body and split it into sixteen fragments!Zeta wrote:They'll obviously just kill it to make you sad at the climax, though. Old Yeller! Old Yeller!

Re: Spectacular Spider Man-Your friendly neighborhood hero.
Yeah, I passed it up because the visual style as well, but the content I've seen in this thread has sparked my interest. Lord, that fight scene Pepperidge posted was deserving of a much larger budget than they're working with. Keep in mind that the version seen in that clip is not only badly encode...

Re: Spectacular Spider Man-Your friendly neighborhood hero.
Wasn't this just canceled due to network shuffling? I remember reading somewhere (I think it was TV Tropes) that what was left of it (possibly a whole second season) was shunted over to that new "Disney XD" cable channel. Disney XD is the current broadcaster in the US, and they'll be debuting seaso...

Re: The Great Sonic Continuity Debate
I always took that as the game saying that Sonic himself is 'The Ultimate Lifeform' (Shadow himself says that during the Super Sonic boss) Didn't Sonic use Chaos Control to go back home, without needing an Emerald in the last episode of Sonic X? (Sonic X isn't exactly what I would call a good show,...

I think Westerners are improving on animation. At least with certain adaptations... Spectacular Spider Man is a huge step up from The Animated Series. This episode in particular is a great example. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ieCwtbq4ps&feature=related Forget episode 7, have you seen episode 23...

I was playing through Mystic Forest on Brand New Dream today and was very surprised to see an Easter Egg which I hadn't seen mentioned anywhere else, and I'm pretty sure hasn't been in any other iteration of the game: Halloween NiGHTS! Even better than the fact that NiGHTS dons a nifty black and whi...

Honestly, I thought the Avatar ending was a let down. I mean, yeah... the characters had resolved everything they set out to do with the highest production values possible. But that was it. There were no revelations, no significant pay-offs for pretty much any subplots, no deaths or any conceivable ...
