Re: Mice and linguistic ruin
I love Castle of Illusion and still own the Genesis cart of that game to this very day. I also own the original Magical Quest on SNES (but not the sequels). Love them both, and this game looks like a mashup of both (the jumping mechanics and style of Mickey, and the little helmet enemies kind of rem...

Re: What are you playing today?
That Fire emblem 3DS looks really cool. I've been excited about the new Fire Emblem for a while now, especially after two DS games that were basically remakes of 15+ year old Fire Emblem games. Don't know how I feel about turning off permanent deaths, though; it feels as weird to me as a Sonic game ...

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012
Sega said in an interview before Episode 1 came out that Sonic's sprite was made to look like his current era because it wouldn't "mesh" for him to be drawn in 2-D, or in his classic style. It was never going to be 2-D, unfortunately. (Not that Dimps has made any solid 2-D Sonic titles, mind you.) Y...

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012
I almost never played Sonic 2/3 with just Sonic. Dunno what the rest of you did, but I always had Sonic and Tails together.
That said, Tails not being a standalone character really sucks, but it isn't for me a deal breaker. Yet.

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012
I'd normally be a fan of placid color schemes like these, but these realistic locales are drab enough already without the colors following suit. If saturated colors aren't your thing, this might not be the franchise for you. I never had problem recognizing anything in the non-Dimps Sonic platform g...

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012
Lost Labyrinth was the only level in Sonic 4 Episode 1 that looked remotely good. Splash Hill was lame, Casino Street was dull, and Mad Gear has a hideous color design all-around. Also loved all 4 Zones had so much going on in the background (and the foreground at times!) you can barely tell at time...

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012
I hate the physics engine in Super Meat Boy. Way too slippery.
I'm not a big fan of the way Classic Sonic controls in Generations, but it's kind of a moot point with the Spin Dash. If he didn't have it, I would be more inclined to agree with FlashTHD.

Yeah, the requirements are a lot lower (typically 20 to 30 rings), plus your ring count isn't reduced to 0 in Knuckles in Sonic 2 after you leave the Special Stage.

My sister once threw the Mario Kart 64 cartridge across the room during an argument I had with her, partially opening it. It still works, though.

And I thought I was the only one who here who ever broke a game disc in frustration.
*looks at unplayable Star Ocean Til the End of Time disc*
That never happened to me in Sonic 2, actually. Surprised it didn't.

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012
Are there actually people who still refuse to admit that Sonic 4.1 was a soulless, derivative, boring piece of shit that was merely functional at best? I wouldn't even call it functional. Game played, looked, and sounded like ass. (And I'd rather play Sonic Heroes' Special Stages over Sonic 4's. So...

Tinkering with my Nintendo 3DS. Played some Mario Kart 7 on it. Plan to play Super Mario 3D Land on it soon.

Re: On the topic of animated fat men...
I sure miss all those old Cartoon Cartoons. (I also liked Kids Next Door until Mo Willems left after season 4.) Its live-action programming might be a joke, but Cartoon Network at least has four good animated shows right now - Adventure Time, Regular Show, The Amazing World of Gumball, and (arguably...

Re: Sonic Generations
Sega games typically have great music, but I think Konami and Capcom also have excellent soundtracks in their games, too. And Nintendo has some classic tunes.
I wish I could play this game some more right now, but my brother's friend is borrowing it.

Re: On the topic of animated fat men...
John K. has admitted that he was pressured into making Adult Party more risque against his will. Even then, though, it wouldn't explain why it was so damn ugly. I seriously haven't revisited that show in years because of its grotesque art.
Spike TV's animation line-up was just a mess all-around.

Re: Sega release trailer for.. Sonic CD? What?
Glad to hear I wasn't the only one having a bitch of a time with the UFOs in this game. I had to actually exploit the save feature just to get all 7 Time Stones. A few other things I noticed: * The 3 bleeps that play when Sonic is underwater before the countdown are now from Sonic Generations, repla...

Re: Ever wonder what Sonic's singing voice would sound like?
I already know what Sonic's singing voice sounds like. It sounds like this. On a serious note - I like Unknown from M.E (both versions), Live and Learn, What I'm Made Of, Fly Into the Freedom, E.G.G.M.A.N., This Machine, Throw It All Way, This World, and anything with vocals from the Japanese Sonic ...

I've sat through six episodes of FiM by force on my siblings' part and I don't get the hype at all for it. I mean, it's an okay kids' show, and the art design is kind of nice, but it's making Samurai Jack and Avatar: The Last Airbender at their most popular look under-appreciated. The only thing I w...

Why on earth did your mom block King of the Hill? Out of all these shows, it's the last one I would have expected! She was not a fan of Hank's father, Cotton Hill. (His debut episode is the reason we were not allowed to watch the show anymore.) I don't think I saw another full episode after that fo...

Re: On the topic of animated fat men...
I love all of Futurama except the direct to DVD movies and the first half of season 6. I love the characters, the jokes, the outer-space setting; even the cameos are done pretty well. Plus there's actual continuity, a thing unheard of in most American animation, much less prime-rime animation. It's ...

You read Penny Arcade? You never really striked me as the type to really read webcomics. I would never have the patience to sit through a 3-page review no matter how good it was. I find this kind of ironic, considering some of your earlier game reviews on the forum, such as Star Ocean Til The End of...
