Re: It's Dr. Eggman's 20th Birthday.

The same can be said about most of the 8-bit games; especially Sonic Chaos, which is richer in colour on the GG but most importantly has a much superior background music in Gigalopolis Zone than the SMS version. And yet all of these advantages are completely outweighed by the higher resolution of th...

Re: Guess the Sonic Generations Stages

And its BGM always causes me headaches (not that the hectic gameplay and the gravity swaps wouldn't already do a good enough job at that). While I generally dislike electric guitars, this track I particularly never understood how anyone can like—to me it really just sounds like someone got a guitar ...

Re: It's Dr. Eggman's 20th Birthday.

If just it was not so terribly hard. Sonic 2 is a breeze compared to it (only speaking Master System versions of course; I have no idea why you would want to waste your time on the Game Gear ones); especially Labyrinth Zone with its painfully slow motions and the Orbinauts placed in the most inconve...

Re: Guess the Sonic Generations Stages

As one of the only people who actually liked Sonic 06, even I think Crisis City is a terrible choice. Not only is it one of the most uninspired stages in the entire game (as Radrappy correctly noted, it is a photo realistic city that is on fire; nothing more), it already has been remade in 2.5D—in S...

What would explain why Classic Sonic can turn around and spindash into or out of the camera.

Re: Sonic Generations

PPA, what do you mean by "pointless"? Every level is going to have a different rendition of the music for Modern and Classic Sonic, so of course there's going to be a remix. If you're referring to the Endless Mine part, I guess it's a weird thing to include, but I'm not going to look such a neat bi...

Huh, that footage of City Escape actually looks much, much better than what was seen in the trailer.

The remix is… pointless, though.

I can't get over how joyless you guys sound. I thought it was neat. the listing of character names with items is intriguing. I have no idea how they're going to not make this a big sloppy piece of shit though based on the time they have left. I played the demo a few times this morning and noticed a...

Re: Sonic Generations

No. (Although even if, you would not be able to see them due to the overly detailed backgrounds.)

Another small irritation: Even after having been damaged by one, you cannot walk through enemy badniks—they are solid objects.

Re: Sonic Generations

^ This, pretty much.

Also, would it have been too hard to make the music loop properly? It abruptly stops and starts all over again—you'd think you were listening to a broken record.

Re: Sonic Generations

I must thank SEGA for releasing this demo (which, by the way, only encompasses Classic Sonic gameplay), because they saved me 60€ with that. ❧ I spent about half an hour with it, exploring the level, testing mechanics and trying different ways of playing it. The first thing that struck me: The spind...

Well, considering the game’s theme, it was indeed a wet dream.

My head dreamed up a video game.

During my daily afternoon nap—which seems to have lasted about one hour and a half today—I dreamt of a video game which, as far as I know, does not actually exist. It was a Game Boy Advance game (although the graphics were very simplistic, with very small sprites and little detail, but still slightl...

Re: SCEI's NGP (PSP2)

I really do not understand the general hostility towards the PSP or its library. It is understandable if you only look at first party titles, which are truly lacking, but beyond that, its library leaves almost no room for wishes and I admit that the PSP is one of my absolute favourite consoles. Igno...

The scene with Sonic smugly keeping the Motobug at bay with his feet while sarcastically musing about it before simply trashing it is brilliant! This is exactly how Sonic should be portrayed (just with a bit less monologues, perhaps)!

I would love for Night Palace to reappear in Sonic Generations. Being in HD, and actually playable (no matter how well or how badly), it would be divine.
