I recall hearing somewhere that The Room had nothing to do with the Silent Hill series until someone decided to slap the franchise title on for good marketing or somesuch. Yeah, I think the official story is that it was originally a new series, but at the last minute, they started to panic and slap...

I enjoyed 4 as a game in and of itself, but not so much as a continuation of the Silent Hill series. The only tie-ins are the vague references to Silent Hill 2, which almost felt like in-jokes, except, you know, with plot.
