Re: Who left all these propane tanks lying around anyway?

Incidentally, was that King Kong game any good? I was pretty hopeful about it because I liked the movie a lot more than I expected. So I tried the game. There were some set pieces that would have been interesting at the time of release, but I didn't get around to it until 2008 or so. 2/3 of the gam...

Re: Mice and linguistic ruin

This is really exciting news, but it's one of those things where you know they aren't going to meet the standards of the original. Or at least how I remember it. It's just not possible at this point. At the same time I'm glad it's being acknowledged at a time where almost every classic is getting a ...

Re: What are you playing today?

LittleBigPlanet 2 - There's a lot of fun to be had here, but I'm surprised I haven't seen too many levels that aren't just more LBP levels. There's nothing genre-breaking about any of the fan-made levels I've played although the ones that Mm highlight are usually quite good at what they do with the ...

So playable Metal Sonic in Episode I-based levels... I kinda expected them to do something like this with Tails.

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012

-Is that Sonic and Tails doing a team attack?
-The first few screenshots look like a level combining Aquatic Ruin and Marble Garden.
-The industrialized level looks completely new, unless it's from a Game Gear/Master System game
-You can see time progressing from level to level in these screens...

Re: What are you playing today?

I never got all the chaos emeralds in Sonic 2 (without the help of a Game Genie) until this year as well. It was incredibly satisfying and not nearly as hard as I thought it would have been. I've never broken a game disk, but I have thrown my share of controllers. There's a small chip missing from o...

Re: PS3 recommendations

Seconding the Dead Space games, though both are far from perfect... you'll enjoy them (at least until the repetitive level design sinks in). I didn't really care for Dead Space 1 when I tried to play through it. Maybe I don't have the patience for survival horror any more. Or just wasn't in the rig...

Re: making a comic book

I'm not too familiar with the comic book industry, but I know an aspiring author. You may want to send publishers a summary of the plot, a list of themes, a target demographic description, and a small sample of the work you're trying to get published. That way you can gain interest in your project w...

Re: This confuses me too deeply to think of a title

Strangely enough, I'm needing some auto insurance and Progressive is a strong consideration. I suppose this is a sign that SEGA can read my thoughts. All of my friends know that I'm a Sonic fan and they often exaggerate my fandom. I was once highly considering getting a Chevrolet Sonic , but feel l...

Anyway, there's now a demo for Gravity Daze in the PSN store. The demo's really short, but I liked what I played and I'm definitely looking forward to the full game. Gravity Daze is the Vita's killer-app for me (not that I'm likely to buy a Vita for the next year or more). I look forward to hearing...

It's your own stupid fault you didn't follow his advice and it later came back to bite you in the ass. No, fuck you, a lot. "You're playing it wrong" is more or less the worst argument you can ever make in a game's defence, ever. I don't know, when a game says, "HEY do this specific thing!" and you...

Weirdly enough, I've played through Wind Waker 3 or 4 times and the triforce hunt has never bothered me once. It's not my favourite part of the game, but I never had a strong hatred for it. I often wonder if people are misremembering it, or if I just took a different approach, because their experie...

I've tried all kinds of crazy Japanese food over the years. I can't remember half their names because I usually only hear it the one time and never again. They always sound like randomly arranged syllables at the time (although I guess this is all a language is to an outsider). Often I'd let the dis...

I liked how each level tricked you into thinking you were playing an updated version of the game the level came from without leaving the Generations play mechanics - particularly for the second half of the game. This is the only way I'll even enjoy Sonic 06.

I'm sure you'd enjoy it more if you had proper controls. I felt that the game gets better as you get into later levels. The Genesis levels doesn't entirely do the game justice. I've been playing Super Meat Boy because someone told me about Humble Indie Bundle 4 and reminded me that it'd been sitting...

I tried the demo and was surprised that
(1) I had an urge to play Sonic CD again
(2) how different the opening FMV is without vocals.

Re: Slash, wheeze, slash, wheeze

Of course the main challenge for me is interpreting the dialogue. I can usually handle it until someone starts going on about the history and backstory, which involves a lot of difficult words and long sentences. Either way, it's like mixing homework with my game, which sucks, but しょうがない. So often ...

It's not mentioned on Ellen Page's IMDB page, so I would guess she's not the actual actress. To these people a "review" consists of functionally listing everything about a ...

I feel that cartoons can be in the full spectrum of cartoony to realistic. It all depends on what the animator/director/storyboard artist/whoever is trying to depict.

that pointer. Skyward Sword doesn't seem to use the sensor bar from what I saw in a couple minutes of playing. Instead it uses the Motion Plus to guess at where you're aiming. On the one hand it makes it so you can have something blocking the path between the sensor bar and the controller, but on t...

Re: On the topic of animated fat men...

Adventure Time and Regular Show are absolutely fantastic. When King of the Hill was on Fox, I tried watching it a couple of times and found it really boring. Then they started airing it on Adult Swim and I somehow learned to love it. The humor isn't whack-you-in-the-head funny. It's more subtle, alm...
