Re: What are you playing today?

Really? A lot of it seems not Mario-themed enough to me. Banana peels and lightning bolts are franchise mainstays but they're not from anything, are they? And the courses in particular seem esoteric, because, like, Melody Motorway, the music-themed one, what's that got to do with Mario other than ha...

Re: What are you playing today?

You know what Nintendo racing franchise doesn't have bullshit? Diddy Kong Racing.

Kidding!

Just to confirm, it's F-Zero.

Re: What are you playing today?

What I really want is a new F-Zero, HD, online, great big draw distance, minimalist, unforgiving, 1000mph, no shells. Try to picture the logistical nightmare of physics and gameplay as demandingly precise as GX, with netcode trying to manage lag in that environment. Online ain't gonna happen. BS.

Re: What are you playing today?

I got a Wii-U. Sort of a treat for the house, since we're kind of sick of F-Zero GX. I never owned a Wii (at least not for long) so it's also an opportunity for me to catch up on a generation of underwhelming Nintendo instalments. I played a lot of Double Dash, for some reason, but I never liked it....

Is Mario Kart 8 actually good? As someone who thought Double Dash and Mario Kart Wii blowed goats?

Re: New Sonic game for 2015

From someone who is the product of a Western market perspective, I've also watched how my kids and their friends play games, from 3D World and Land go even further, having finally managed to make a 3D action game where a simple, unassisted stomp is natural and fun to do How did they manage that? I ...

In other news... http://info.sonicretro.org/images/thumb/e/e6/Misc_Boss_Zero.png/320px-Misc_Boss_Zero.png I never realised those middle bits are Zero's eyes, like E-102. Incidentally, Zero always reminded me of this guy, from the first Wallace and Gromit film: http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...

Re: New Sonic game for 2015

Being a Smurfette isn't necessarily about being a viable love interest. Amy is a classic Smurfette in that her primary identifying trait is entirely that she's female in a world of male characters. And pink. Etc. Even the identifying gimmick of her SA1 theme tune was that it was "girly".

If we were only going to take on board the author's intent, then my grandad singing racist songs about nig-nogs isn't actually offensive.

Re: New Sonic game for 2015

Smile, I am glad Sonic's peach arms give you all those emotional feelings and insights about his character and personality, but I guarantee you none of that was even remotely intentional and the reason they are peach is actually really honestly truly just so you could see them better. This is also ...

Re: Sonic 2 mobile with Hidden Palace

Oh right. I had it in my head that the 0x10 tune was labeled Hidden Palace on the Masa demo CD, but I guess I was wrong.

I still think the slower 6/8 thing is way more special and secret-sounding!

I'm really impressed by this. Though why the fuck they didn't use the proper Hidden Palace Zone music escapes me. Silv says it's depressing and I find that depressing.

We need an HD port of PSO1 to consoles.

Is it just me or does this lame Muse track sound like Sonic Adventure music? Instrumental version:

It even has a guitar line like Sonic Boom's solo.

Oh yeah. That was a real piece of embarrassment. I don't think he ended up answering any questions, at least not any that were any good.
"Which character are you most proud of creating?"
"Soniku desu."

Guess that solves that one.

Esrever, I give u biiiig kiss. Never seen those before. Awesome. Sonic was such a cute character. Now he looks like an asshole. He really was cute, but he really did have attitude, too. It's a balancing act that's never been repeated. In Sonic Generations, his "old" model looks chubby, almost teddy-...
