Re: What are you playing today?

So yesterday I started playing Code of Princess, tempted by promises of a quirky script/cast, a beat-them-up with RPG elements, it being a spiritual successor of sorts to Guardian Heroes, and a cut price of R$35,00. I've been enjoying it quite a bit in spite of some pretty glaring flaws, like the fa...

Even without any context, that thing will give me nightmares if I stare at it for too long. Good LORD.

Re: GHZ cards

There's a lot of GHZ lore here I didn't know about. Makes me remember that I've been here for nearly ten years, yet this is nothing compared to the real veterans.

But hey, now I finally know what was the deal with Naked Tillis!

Re: Of obscure(ish) digital adventure.

Oh yeah, you have been away for a while. Like many other folks here. Anyway, one thing I forgot to mention is that Etrian Odyssey has a most excellent soundtrack by Yuzo Koshiro . In the first three games, the music was composed entirely on a PC 88 (when I said they aspired to emulate those old RPGs...

Re: Of obscure(ish) digital adventure.

I'm not sure if it qualifies as "obscure" - it's a Atlus RPG series with consistently good reviews - but the fact is that I've never seen anyone talk about Etrian Odyssey. Heck, I myself had never heard of it (aside from one memetic fan video which is still more associated with Touhou) until my folk...

Re: Game Music

When it comes to good music from obscure videogames, nothing beats Ys - actually, nearly every damn thing composed for Falcom games counts. Here are a few random examples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vKHLdxJFRc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edXzyx6t_rU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAuJY7gWsXs...

Wait a second, does this mean you DIDN'T set up a dupe board to attract the spambots and keep them away from here? Now I'm a little disappointed. At least the mystery thickens.

Re: Urkel to reprise the voice of Sonic in upcoming fan film

Sonic has been limited to fighting only Eggman (Except in the comics.) for a while, I felt like this is limiting how much of the character can be explored in a story. True. Funny how that's something that kind of never bothered me until now. But that's the case with many main videogame characters, ...

Re: Merry Christmas, you heartless bastards

I got a Rubik's Cube. That's it. And to this day, I'm still glad the GHZ was the first "social" site I ever ventured to. It certainly did me a lot of good as an internet user to talk semi-regularly with level-headed people with a sense of humor, and those who weren't taught me how NOT to behave. I'm...

First they buy Marvel, now they bought Lucasfilm, and in-between they started making decent original cartoons. Just what the hell is going on.

Re: I've never seen a less likable group of characters

Of course, in what I envisioned there isn't the slightest pretension of forming any sort of cohesive unifying storyline. On a related topic, Darth Vader has two degrees of Ryu: Soul Calibur IV (Darth Vader/Mitsurugi), Namco X Capcom (Mitsurugi/Ryu). Or does that make only one degree? I don't know al...

Re: I've never seen a less likable group of characters

Between this and that sort-of-sequel to Namco X Capcom, only Sega's in it too, I wonder if anyone ever tried to make a chart linking every known crossover through characters in common. Something like a "five degrees of Ryu".

Has anyone ever bothered to count how many cereal topics we had before it finally got to this point?

I'm almost sure I got all seven emeralds in my first playthrough. The catch? That was in Knuckles in Sonic 2. Not really the same thing, I'm guessing.

Re: On the topic of animated fat men...

I have no idea when was the last time I've watched an animated show regularly, but then again, I can say the same for TV in general. I used to watch South Park almost religiously more than half a decade ago, but it started to get grating after it got too preachy - I thought that one christmas episod...
