Re: What are you playing today?
Speaking of 9th chapters of long-running JRPGs, I've been playing Dragon Quest IX a lot over the last weeks. It's my first time playing a game from the series, so I have no idea how it stands compared to the other ones - that said, my experience with it pretty much rivalizes with the one I had with ...

Re: Concept Artwork For "Epic Mickey" from Warren Spector
I did play the SNES version (the Maui Mallard one) back when game rental stores weren't a rarity. I don't remember much of it, but I do have distinct memories of a few stages and the soundtrack.

Re: So I'm reading Scott Pilgrim
Actually, that would be because of taxes. That, and they probably want to get all the books released here before the movie.
Speaking of which, I got to read the first 2 volumes not too long ago (around here, they got released in a single book); it's a fun series, but I can't say I was too impressed.

"Kinect"? Natal was an ok name - certainly less generic-sounding.

I can't speak for My Little Baku, but I think hihidaruma is kind of supposed to look that way, and real life sewer bird eyes look exactly like that.

Re: Can I Show yous my Pokemon for the Fifth Tiem?
I guess the fact the two main legendaries were revealed to be the "Yin" and "Yang" pokémon kind of throws out the window any speculation of one of them being evil. You know, balance of the cosmos and all that stuff.

Re: Can I Show yous my Pokemon for the Fifth Tiem?
I can't tell what are supposed to be its eyes and what is supposed to be the mouth. Intriguing. Those new pokemon and typings are pretty ok/cool (even if it does include an overly-girly tapir and a dirty feathered rat), but the female professor is the real news this time. And I can only wonder the k...

Respect for all lifeforms in general is a good thing, but you really need to draw a line somewhere.
Back to the topic, the idea of peanut butter/cheetossandwitches sandwiches sounds disgusting, but intriguing. How do you people come up with those recipes?

Actually, that was Darkrai. It's the only occasion in the franchise when it's evil, tough.

Re: Can I Show yous my Pokemon for the Fifth Tiem?
It doesn't bother me much, but the box art(s) makes them look a little too alike, phisicaly speaking - at least, compared to the likes of Groudon/Kyogre or Dialga/Palkia. But then again, considering the theme they appear to follow, it's possibly intentional.

Because those will be recommended sooner or later: -Shadow of the Collossus (you've heard of it) -Megaman X: Command Mission (pretty decent RPG, but the Gamecube version is better) -Viewtiful Joe (less polished than the Gamecube version, but has extra features) -Devil May Cry 1 & 3 (pretty ridiculou...

... well, in all fairness, the first one DID have better music, individual endings, and a cooler final boss (despite his cheapness). But as for everything else, nope.

Re: Prolific American Company I Do Care About vs. Capcom
I'd be lying if I said I won't miss the sprite style from the older games. I mean, they could take the same graphic direction as BlazBlue or something like that - but then again, Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom (whose producer is the same as this game's - and is also its total director ) didn't look bad at all...

Friggin' edit limit - that link wasn't supposed to be there.
Since I'm already here... did anyone else play Investigations? I had the luck of getting it early, and a few issues aside (even if it reaches the intended tension, the "final battle" can be a bit annoying), it was definetely worth it.

Re: Forget Ace Attorneys. Phantom Detectives is where it's a
Something about these character designs remind me a bit of early ideas for the first Ace Attorney's main cast. For better or for worse. (I don't know what happened to the link, but it still works on the TvTropes page .) Anyway, I'm surprised to learn this game happens in the same universe as AA's - ...

Re: Can I Show yous my Pokemon for the Fifth Tiem?
On that matter, I kinda hope we get a customizable main character this time - if not with the appearance, at least with the clothes/colors. But considering these games are coming to the DS, they will probably leave that for the next generation.

Re: First game I ever played
I pretty much own my interest in videogames to my cousins - of both sides of my family. Half of them had a Master System with Sonic 1 (and Alex Kidd and some others I don't remember), while the other half had a SNES with Super Mario World (and other forgettable titles). Most of the time I just watch...

Re: What are you playing today?
(Loves Bloodlines) I already mentioned Portrait of Ruin as something good I've played recently, but now I'm really recommending it to you (if you didn't play it already). It may follow the Metroidvania style inside the castle, but the portrait stage gimmick allows for some pretty different location...

Re: What are you playing today?
I recently finished Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin; the animesque (of the generic kind) art for the characters irks me a bit, and it has its fair share of good and bad glitches. But it was still the first time in a while I got kind of addicted to a game - it helps that it was the first Castlevania I ...
