Re: The DS gazes also into you

I see what G. Silver is getting at, though. If you're running forward toward a hole with Mario, it's sort of hard to gauge whether or not you'll fit through it. Maybe they're doing it to show off how that sort of feature is only possible with stereoscopic 3D?

Re: Forget Ace Attorneys. Phantom Detectives is where it's a

I finished it. A lot of the puzzles are clever, and the story is satisfying despite a semi-asspull ending - there's only a few loose ends, and none of them are major. It's still really linear (as in you can solve each puzzle exactly one way - though there are at least two clever failure possibilitie...

Fun fact, Delphine's comment is actually mistranslated from a Japanese word that means "artificial life form".

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

Could the proponents of the DS version be more specific? Why is it so much of a "comeback"? I played the demo, and it was very enjoyable, but it seemed like Rush Adventure with some new focus on powerups. Not like a massive revival or something, just more of the better parts of the franchise.

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

No, your last paragraph is pretty much what I feel. I think that because 3D Sonic has been so bad historically, they're afraid to even get close to the SA1/SA2 way of doing things. Maybe next time.

What? Did Rare somehow manage to get the rights for the arcade game's use in Donkey Kong 64? Or just sort of not bring it up?

Re: Return to the Hundred Acre Wood

Maybe it's just my nostalgia and the overall melancholy of it, but I didn't think Toy Story 3 was a very satisfying film. It certainly wasn't bad, but I feel Pixar should stay away from sequels for the most part, especially from something like Cars.

I haven't really played Brawl that much besides matchmaking. Is it any better with codes?

Re: What are you playing today?

K2J: I might very well take you up on that offer, since I don't think you can send a whole batch of stuff at once through the DS. That being said, DS code is 3052 3437 1132, Wii code is 1422 5063 6895 0228. Now I'll just need your Wii code and maybe within the next 24 hours we will have completed t...

Asterisks typically indicate correction. A pair of asterisks indicate self-action.

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

Admittedly, I'm just butthurt about stepping into the topic and seeing everyone yelling the really spoilery Super Sonic is (according to the soundtrack) playable in levels , even moderators. I suppose I was too used to the very sterile Sonic 4 discussion, where you were absolutely required to censor...

Ironically, Retro, a staunch supporter of not letting Sonic 4 be leaked, is having a recursive masturbation over everything that's leaked.

If the demo is anything to go by, the DS version, despite using the Rush engine, is quite different (better) in style, but yeah, he probably would've mentioned the similarities if he had the knowledge.

I got it a few months back, but haven't really had time to experiment with it too much. Friend Code is 0861-8400-7064. I've also got the WiiWare showcase, if you prefer that.

Re: Ghetto holodeck

Is buying a product without a game to utilize it a common thing in Japan? Nearly three hundred thousand standalone units were sold in MotionPlus' Japanese opening week, and I'd always thought that was kinda curious. Do you just have it to be ready, in case they sell out, or something?

Re: What are you playing today?

It's a pretty weak idea in the first place and the level design is insipid in order (I imagine) to accommodate it. I only got to the second area I think before I tossed it aside. Most of the later levels have entirely new paths (underground, for example) that bypass the level you just went through....

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

Omochao needs to learn how to interview like Mr. Zero. But yeah, voices are pretty cool. Sonic sounds better than in that leaked Colors cutscene, but neither is that bad. It's almost impossible for Jet to sound worse than in Drummond's nasal squeal, so he's improved, too. Rouge does not sound like a...

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

I think it's slightly faster. Obviously you don't bounce when you land - there's significant downtime, actually (about 0.5 seconds). You lose all horizontal momentum on doing it, as well. Also, the slide is odd. Helps you go faster when going downhill, but slower when going uphill or on flat area. D...

I just got a pair of headphones and I... I kinda like this. Yeah, Sonic's voice sounds much older than what I expect, but I suppose it'll grow on me. It's not bad, it's just different. And Tails is certainly an improvement.

Pretty bad. It's better to download the demo than the full version, though.
