Re: New Sonic game for 2015
Ok, to restate, I'm 100% fine with this as a fun, experimental (probably doomed) direction for the franchise. But the arms bug the hell out of me because they've basically been a default indicator for the past two decades of whether someone had ever actually payed the slightest attention to the cont...

Re: New Sonic game for 2015
The arms are driving me nuts. I've been correcting people who drew them wrong since first goddamn grade. I can't stop now.
Also: If this is supposed to be the new 'Western' Sonic, just where the hell does that put the Archie comic?

Re: New Sonic game for 2015
Did it ever become clear whether those wretched-looking silhouettes we saw in the teaser image were reflective of the final character designs in the new cartoon? It's been so damn long I can barely remember what they looked like. Didn't realize the show would be CG, either. I guess it's... probably ...

I'm pretty sure that's what they are! The turtlebots/dawsons are have a green/grey/yellow colorscheme, but pototsus also have that weird, flesh-colored face and arms, plus what looks like a nose.

Wow, I'd love to see some of his SA character sketches before their lines got all beveled out and thickened.

Re: Mo' hardware, mo' problems
The only thing that could tempt me to buy a One is Crimson Dragon thanks to my rabid, frothing desire to support Yukio Futatsugi in all of his endeavors. I probably still won't, but CD is making it damn hard to rule out completely. Maybe I could pay a friend who gets a One to buy it? Twice? Or I cou...

Canon goes schlurrrrrrrpy
I don't follow the comic, so maybe this is old hat. But I felt compelled to share it anyways: http://i.imgur.com/aa9XNcE.jpg And then: http://i.imgur.com/5fyovaf.jpg I don't know who we've got on he inside, but I just want to thank them for making sure the canon included a schlurrrrpy Tails Doll tra...

And I can confirm there was no chance in hell it ever would have. Besides the obvious impossibilities, do we have any clues about the actual animation studio yet?

Re: Sonic 1 and 2 getting Sonic CD style remakes
Just finished up with Knuckles and all the emeralds after getting them with everyone else. All in all, pretty great! I think the widescreen helps address the complaints a lot of first-timers have that the game doesn't let you see far enough ahead when going top speed. Also, is it just me, or does Kn...

Re: New Sonic Cartoon
This could be good if the show's quality (assuming it has any) and humor (assuming it's not terrible) seep back into the property proper. Too bad it's probably going to end up animated in in a MLP flash style, but hey, not every show can be Gravity Falls.

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive
Based on this playthrough, I'd guess the reason Sonic's "run" looks like the Super Peel Out is because of how it charges on the spot when you hold the run button without moving. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZHaIv00UCc&feature=player_embedded#! I was ready to start dreading this thing--because he...

I remember somebody on here (I forget who) once suggested that a good way to subvert the Really Big Super Sonic Fight At The End™ was to have Sonic start the battle in super mode and then lose it and have to finish the fight as regular old Sonic. Yeah, this is why the pre-werehog part of the intro ...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive
Most entries in the Sonic series have had weak/repetitive finales. Hell I'd say the final boss of Sonic 1 was kind of underwhelming. It's obvious they realize the high-water mark is S3&K, since they've been trying to re-purpose that Super Sonic mechanic in 3D for a decade now with little or no succ...
