Mice and linguistic ruin
http://www.the-magicbox.com/1203/game120327b.shtml I didn't play the original Epic Mickey, I doubt I'll play the sequel, and now that the word "epic" has been thoroughly debased by the lingo of the 4chan generation, I refuse to use it ever again even in its original context. HOWEVER. This DS version...

Re: Who left all these propane tanks lying around anyway?
When Shenmue 3 goes into full production, I'll believe that Beyond 2 can happen.
Incidentally, was that King Kong game any good? Is there any truth to the legend that Peter Jackson specifically wanted the project to go to Ancel?

Re: Who left all these propane tanks lying around anyway?
What happened to the original Rayman team? I don't know about the "team", but weren't both the original and sequel directed by Michel Ancel? But then he wasn't involved in the third one (which wasn't as good) because he was making Beyond Good and Evil which was great but nobody played it and then h...

Re: Who left all these propane tanks lying around anyway?
No doubt the rest of the industry will catch up to it, but it's still at least a few years off. Did they create the technology from the ground up themselves? Certainly that must've been extremely expensive, but now that the technology exists, can't they license it out more cheaply to other companie...

Re: Who left all these propane tanks lying around anyway?
So there's no way to switch out of battle posture in missions? Gay. Why in the world would they have taken that out? Also, despite the tweaks, the graphics engine is definitely showing its age. Did anyone else here play L.A. Noire? That game had ups and downs, but the facial motion capture was incre...

Re: Who left all these propane tanks lying around anyway?
This may be a stupid question, but is there a way to switch between combat and explore modes in the field? It seems like I remember being able to manually put my guns away in ME 1 and 2, but now Shepard's always in over-the-shoulder "aim" mode, which is a clunky and unnatural way to traverse an envi...

Re: Journey
I just finished it myself. If it weren't for the fact that it's so short and can never really be enjoyed as much as the first time through, I'd say this is the best game any of us would be likely to play this decade. As it is, it's still going to be the best thing of any of us play this year. I thin...

Re: Who left all these propane tanks lying around anyway?
There's a class in Mass Effect that doesn't involve shooting? Isn't that like a class in Mario that doesn't involve jumping? I guess you wouldn't know then, but I'm wondering if the combat is more like the first or the second. I thought the first one was too complicated but the second was too shallo...

Re: Who left all these propane tanks lying around anyway?
Just finished it. It kind of felt easier than the first two - this is actually the first one I cleared on Normal mode... The bonus materials also admit that the levels and scenarios were made before they were strung to a story. This actually explains a lot. It kind of feels like the whole game was b...

Re: Who left all these propane tanks lying around anyway?
Yeah, that's the PS-branded TV. Supposedly it has a dual-screen feature where two people can play sitting at different angles and see completely different pictures. Apparently it's aimed at gamers without much space or money, but the price is still pretty high for such a small screen... I eventually...

Re: Who left all these propane tanks lying around anyway?
but the 3d TV that comes in a PlayStation 3 bundle is actually really really good Really? What TV is that? I assume it would be a Bravia if it comes bundled with a PS3 (though didn't Sony also release a small, PlayStation-branded 3D TV?). I'm using a 40" 2011 Bravia, which are actually reputed to h...

Why is that? Is the ending anti-climactic? Ridiculous? Both?ME3 is pretty good if you don't play the last twenty minutes.

Who left all these propane tanks lying around anyway?
I am what I assume is about halfway through Uncharted 3, and right off the bat I can say with absolute confidence that it's the best-looking game that's ever been made. Naughty Dog must have had the 10-year old graphic artists in their south Asian sweatshops working overtime. I've literally spent mi...

Re: Journey
This whole thread is lurching uncomfortably with the kind of empty arthouse lingo I've been avoiding since college - "emergent gameplay"? Seriously? Maybe that's hard to get away from when discussing a game from a company who has blush-inducing schtick like "artistically-crafted" and "meaningful, en...

Re: Massive tsunami hits Japan (JARED MATTE MEMORIAL THREAD,
I was alone in the teacher's room when it happened except for one of the office staff who popped in to put something on someone's desk, then all of a sudden phone alarms went off across the room. Scared the shit of out me and the office clerk and we kind of laughed like "what the hell was that about...

Holy shit, this game is weird. There's this kid who draws a gate with chalk on the wall of a tunnel but he lost his dad and then when you find his dad and "float" him back to his son, the picture of a gate has become an actual gate which leads you to an old man who alleges to be God who opens up his...

Re: Sweet Wheat & Sucrose Oats
Hershey's is very milky. Of course it is milk chocolate, but it's like... more milk than chocolate, if that's possible. The aftertaste is disgusting. For years it was the only chocolate I knew, so I had no idea how gross it was until I started getting actual chocolate. This is what Wikipoodia says: ...

Re: Sweet Wheat & Sucrose Oats
You are startlingly knowledgeable about all this. Is there like a university course? Cocoa Studies or something?
So in your educated opinion, what's the best chocolate out there? I'm assuming it's not Hershey's.

Re: Sweet Wheat & Sucrose Oats
Backtracking to the topic of cocoa economics, the foreign food shop has these expensive-ass chocolate bars with different amounts of cocoa all the way up to 99%. Is that even possible? I haven't tried one yet (I usually end up spending my cash there on gummis), but that sounds like it would be unple...

I was going to ask if they released the games before the system, then I guess this answered my question: http://penny-arcade.com/comic/2012/02/15I have Hot Shots Golf and Uncharted in my possession at the moment.
Does this mean that hardware is for pussies?

I don't know what to do now. I feel so guilty. Is Jesus mad at me? Am I going to hell?
I... I'm thinking about doing it again. My God, what am I turning into?
