Re: Sonic Generations

I hope there is a retail PC version, and without that Steam DRM crap. I hope there's a Steam version, without that "Insert DVD into disc drive" crap. There is crap, and intrusive crap. Steam is the latter. How is Steam intrusive apart from logging in, which is to be expected of an online gaming net...

Re: Sonic Generations

I don't get the excitement about the PC version. Like I'm not against the game being available to more people, but it seems like people are really eager for there to be a PC version this time around. No one cared if there was a PC version of Unleashed. Are you guys just not on board with current-ge...

I do hope they release this digitally, but not in the claim-they-have-when-they-flagrantly-have-not way of releasing Colours' soundtrack on iTunes.

Re: Sonic Generations

While having an AI/Player 2 Tails tagging along Sonic 2 style would be a nice addition, I think the 2.5D twistiness of the classic stages would make it impossible for the camera to work.

Re: Ladies and gentlemen, the death of EA Sports

I could understand if EA were opening a chain of stores across all their titles - considering they publish a sizable chunk of games on store shelves today - but a chain dedicated entirely to EA sports baffles me. They only release new games for each series once a year, right? So what are the shelves...

Perhaps we should have one, condensed dream thread. I feel the need to tell you all about the dream where I explained dihybrid inheritance to a Gorilla.

Re: Sonic Generations

Thats omochao. In the footage they showed at sonic boom, he was present in greenhill zone as a guide as well. Take that as you will. I know it's the tiniest thing to get pissed off about, but seriously, Omochao is one of the most embarrassingly obnoxious characters to come out of the franchise. I'd...

Re: Super WiiHD3D+ Advance

In other news, the 3DS Virtual Console has an explicit load/save savestate feature, so you can fix mistakes whenever you want! Great! If only they'd give the Wii VC that, then it would feel like an actual competent emulator. Have Nintendo made any public statement about the battery life of the Wiiu...

Re: Super WiiHD3D+ Advance

Well, in Nintendo's example of being able to use the console whilst somebody is watching TV, it'd be nice to play it somewhere quieter or less busy. For example, using it in a bedroom whilst the console is in the living room.

It's a pity that this hasn't really worked out for them with Windows Phone 7, which is arguably the closest we're going to get to an Xbox ...

Re: Tetsuhiko Kikuchi: Draws with a mouse?

The way I scan any form of lineart is to use a scanner, then use the threshold tool to separate it into white and black, which also has the effect of adding aliased edges. As an added bonus, it allows colouring with a fill can tool. The end result looks pretty much the same as here (except my linear...

Thanks for the link.

That looks incredible. I love the fluidity of the visuals and the attention to detail, it looks just like a playable cartoon. Why am I so excited for this? I don't even own a console it's on.

The Wikipedia Game

This is apparently stolen from the alt-text of an xkcd comic , but I had it brought to my attention today in my website's IRC channel, and it's pretty damned cool if you ask me. 1) Choose any Wikipedia page, at random. 2) Click the first link on the page that isn't in brackets or italics. 3) Repeat ...

With raw memories of those tilt controls, that's not necessarily a bad thing. That said, I do mean to finish it one day. Especially if Night Palace is as pretty as P.P.A. claims.

That's almost as jarring a twist as Pirates II, a film my brother made me watch. After 10 minutes of a plot I was actually getting in to, it suddenly and without warning degenerated into pornography.

Also, Welcome.
