Re: "Sonic Chronicles" trademarked by Sega

face palm That didn't remind you of anything the moment you stopped typing it? Should it have? I can't think of anything. Do you mean Sonic Battle or something? I've never played that so honestly I have no idea how it turned out. Or are you making some weird comparison to Sonic Heroes, despite the ...

Re: "Sonic Chronicles" trademarked by Sega

The game seriously still looks too slow. Not too slow in an "omg Sonic games need to be super fast" bullshit sort of way either, just in the way that everything looks clunky and slow to play, the experience doesn't seem remotely streamlined. It's still insanity that someone really thought turn based...

Re: Yusuhuru is a fascinating man.

I'm liking how the edited title is still wrong, good work. It displeases me that people's quotes are messed up and it looks like I'm praising Sonic CD when it was P.P.A as the game sickens me in all honestly. Even the "CD quality soundtrack" was complete and utter shit for me, other than "You can do...

Re: Yasahura is a fascinating man.

Any chance someone could edit the title? It's a pretty easy mistake to make at least considering how rarely we actually see his damn name anywhere! Anyway I didn't enjoy a single second of Sonic CD due to what I consider abysmal and disjointed level design, which is one of many reasons I consider Ya...

Yasuhara is a fascinating man.

Here's a new interview to prove it! http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/3769/game_design_psychology_the_full_.php The conversation mainly revolves around his overall game design philosiphy and approach, which he certainly has a lot to say (and randomly sketch) about. A thoroughly interesting read ...

Re: Sonic Unleashed?

Uh well all the info posted in the topic about it made it certainly sound like a slower experience and if it involves combat while running, realistically it just isn't going to be as fast. The entire premise just sounds like a slower concept, it's kind of natural to assume it's not going to be movi...

Re: Sonic Unleashed?

When talking about the Wii version you should probably keep in mind it's actually being developed in tandem with the PS2 version, so it's probably the exact same build. Sonic and the Black Knight is looking better visually in stills than Wii Unleashed though, sporting a better Sonic model, lighting ...

Re: That Black Flying Rodent (AKA Batman 2)

Is it just me or is the edit function missing? I meant to say Nolan's universe, not Bale's!

Bale is the only thing I'd really remove from Nolan's version. Well, his voice at least.

Re: That Black Flying Rodent (AKA Batman 2)

In terms of villains for a next movie, remember not to imagine the villains as what they currently are and more how the concept of their character would work in Bale's universe. Okay, maybe most of you are already doing that but remember that applies to look and personality traits. I had some odd id...

Re: Sonic and the Quest for Phallic Compensation

I'm getting a pretty positive vibe from the new information and screens. Secret Rings has a lot of redeeming values really, the customisation had a lot of depth to it but the sole issue with it(and the big problem with the entire game), was that it meant you started off the game crippled and barely ...

So there's literally no limits on where they'd be willing to take the franchise then.

Re: Nintendo is dead.

I'm gonna hold out some small hope that the reason we didn't see much of the "hardcore" content (assuming there is much) is because it's early in development due to a long technical phase working out how to properly use the improved MotionPlus control in the key Nintendo franchises in a way that tru...

Re: Nintendo is dead.

It wasn't great but Wii Sports Resort and the MotionPlus are big things, especially the MotionPlus. The controls really did look vastly improved, if that's implimented well into further Wii development then we'll have titles worth caring about.

Re: Sonic Unleashed?

The fact it has completely different level design essentially established it as a different game but with the same general theme. Just because a different level was shown in the shots for the Wii game doesn't mean said level won't be in the PS360 version. In fact, it would be stupid to show directl...

Re: Sonic Unleashed?

Don't forget that the level design is going to be completely different. That's my biggest worry after the controls. That isn't my worry for the Wii version, that's the sole reason I'm actually interested in it! The fact it has completely different level design essentially established it as a differ...

Re: Sonic Unleashed?

That's because the majority of "most professional sites" bang on about how Sonic has "always been about" the speed and that they hate having to slow down in the games. Anyway, although I'd like to see slower platforming based gameplay as much as anyone else I appreciate why they have the speed focus...

Re: An entertaining five minutes

But can someone tell me, what is it with the addiction of putting the Sonic CD jump sound effect into hacks of Sonic 1? I seriously wonder this as well. I've seen it in several fan games and everytime I wonder how someone could actually want that noise in their game. It's part of the reason why I f...

Re: Shake a Fat Man

Whooaa entitlement much? And based on such itty bitty screens, too. The standard retail on any new game is around $50 (but not really anymore thanks to the 360 and PS3..), and that's regardless of the cost to produce it or the quality of the game. Should a new, awesome, 2D action game be cheaper th...

Re: Shake a Fat Man

Apparently it's actually a full price disc title, which seems like another situation with Nintendo being a bit cheeky concerning pricing as there's no way the development costs on this title remotely rival most of their other full price games but they seem to think they can get away with anything ju...

Re: Shake a Fat Man

I've never played 3 or 4 but Wario Land 2 definitetly contains all the quality of the original and from what I recall, builds upon it in many ways.

The only downside I remember is that it didn't have a brilliant world map like the orignal, one of my all time favourite overworlds.
