Seems like more trouble than I originally wanted to go to. That's a very roundabout way to get the damn thing to play music.
I might try it anyway. Thanks for the help.

Did you not read my post? Your copy probably doesn't have the music tracks at all. Yeah, I took that in. What I'm wondering now is if the game looks for them anyway (since it doesn't appear the coding has changed for their removal). In which case it should be possible to trick it into playing track...

Thanks for the responses, but I'm afraid I still don't have a clue. I'm looking at the files on the CD, and there aren't any "tracks" at all. The closest thing I can find is in the "SOUND" folder, which only contains a sound-effects folder (filled with lots of .wavs). No real music at all. The game ...

I've owned Sonic R PC for so long, but I never got the music to work. In fact, I'm fairly certain that the music files aren't even present on the CD. Its a legit copy, too. I don't want to hijack the thread or anything, but is there any way to download the songs and trick the game into playing them?

You know, ignoring all the over-the-top suggestions, Nitro actually looks pretty cool and the concept isn't even that bad! Of course, some unique idea would need to be devised to make him worth the time, but if a game studio picked up and ran with the concept behind him, I think I'd actually be real...

They've simultaneously made Brawl the best game ever and M&S at the Olympics the most pointless game ever in one go. I loved the use of Live and Learn. Its little touches like that that make you realise how Nintendo always strives to reach out to fans by doing the little things right, while in compa...

And... There’s a method for powering yourself up as needed to do battle with the Subspace Armyâ€â€a method that has not been seen before. I’ll explain this in great detail another time. Sakurai, you bastard. Co-op sounds cool, though. Its something I always thought Melee's Adventu...

That hand-drawn thing was awesome. I think the anime movie (which I actually thought was pretty entertaining) got it right by making the plot Sonic v Metal Sonic, since such a setup lends itself to lots of really fast running and other high-speed shenanigans, which is what everyone so far has asked ...

The day after the launch I was fairly sick and bedridden, so I got a family member to go an pick me up the book so I could read it. I had it done by that night. Its fairly good, and nowhere near the "bloodbath" people are calling it. Most of the Hogwarts students who have actually been named in the ...

I couldn't help but laugh while watching that. Not because the game looks bad (it seems a little basic, but solid at least), but because they used "the voice-over guy". It sounded like I was listening to the pitch of a movie I would never dream of going to see. I also found him hilarious at the end....

When I was younger (probably about 10 or something), I was sitting in my living room watching TV. Now, the only way to get in to or out of this particular room is through a short, narrow corridor. For whatever reason, I decided that the TV was no longer entertaining me and I decided to leave and go ...

Probably, although I still think if they're going to explicitly state the context of a character then the character should make sense in that context. Adult Link using the boomerang and TP Zelda becoming Sheik both don't make sense in their original contexts, but one makes far less sense than the ot...

Yet the trophy for Donkey Kong stated that he's the same one from the arcade when it's clearly Rare's DK, and the description for Daisy said she was in Mario Golf, even though she wasn't, and that the Great Fox appeared in SNES Star Fox even though it first appeared in SF64, so they aren't entirely...

That medley made me want to play Ocarina all over again. Last I checked, the characters in SSB were meant to amalgamations of all their different interpretations. So you shouldn't rule that out over something as trivial as an outer design. Not necessarily. Melee's trophies made it obvious that we we...

Oh yeah, about Nintendo. I think it's almost a fact that the games would turn out average with absolutely no charm left in them at all, effectively killing it due to lack of any creativity, like Mario platformers. That's absolutely rubbish. I don't know where this sudden perception of Nintendo bein...
