Re: Forget Ace Attorneys. Phantom Detectives is where it's a

I didn't think it was great, but I was enjoying it at least. Then I got to a level in world 2 or 3 that I couldn't figure out how to get passed. And since there were no walkthroughs for the DS version online -- at the time at least -- I just gave up and stop playing it. Heh! The exact same thing ha...

So, you say the physics look perfectly fine, when he almost floats while jumping? Not to mention the obvious lack of inertia. Jesus motherfucking shitcock Christ on an airbike. WHO THE FUCK NOTICES THIS SHIT? From what I've seen, people with a working set of eyes tend to notice. So what are the odd...

Re: Samus in Ninja Gaiden

I've said it elsewhere and I'll say it again, awesome as hell trailer. Nails the feel I'd want from a 3d third-person Metroid. It's great that it looks like they've successfully implimented the true speed booster, space jump and screw attack. I'm not going to claim the Art direction is up to Prime's...

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010

I was surprised at first that each act has different music. I get the feeling Senuoe didn't feel confident enough in any of the themes he was composing for each zone to make them a "main theme" and do variations. Well I only listened to bits of each of the tracks though so I'm not sure if there are ...

It's exactly that, but without the glasses. Also probably not as effect since it's Nintendo and it'll be done on the cheap.

Re: Oh boy a true ds successor

I have a DS Fat and I rarely ever play it. It amazes me that anyone still sticks with the fat system. The Lite alone definitely had enough improvements (especially weight, screen brightness options and battery) to warrant a purchase but jumping from Fat to DSi I'd consider a pretty huge improvement...

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010

Dimps must seriously not give a shit about visual quality at this point as long as it checks the boxes Sega wants. Sonic Rush Adventure also had lazy as hell level visual design. I guess it's understandable the staff must be sick fed up of creating new level assets by now. Or maybe all the talented ...

Re: Where do you get your game news?

I generally only care about Nintendo news as with the next gen systems I'm usually happier to just wait and see what comes out nowadays. Or I just check the gaming section of other forums I go to.

So saying that I primarily use http://www.gonintendo.com

They don't but I've definitely seen what he just mentioned happen in a few demos, mainly in some of the older live arcade game demos though.

Re: SEGA's Leak of the Month

That actually looks surprisingly good. I mean since the gameplay is running smoothly and doesn't feel too claustrophobic, there's not really much more I could've expected them to pull off on the DS screens. I can't listen to sound at the moment but is the soundtrack emulated too? I assume if it is t...

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010

I'm surprised anyone would complain about the art/visuals if they watched the gameplay. The layers of scrolling and overall look are actually pretty impressive. If anything it does look significantly better in my eyes than the Advance games/rush. That's the only real positive I have. Other than that...

What was the last Darius game prior to this one? I've only played Darius Gaiden and G-Darius.

Annoys me it's a PSP title, I'd much prefer to see something like an HD title available on Live Arcade or PSN or something. The game kinda looks like ass.

Re: Samus in Ninja Gaiden

The best thing about this game for me perhaps is that it's the first 3D title in the series that Metroid co-creator Yoshio Sakamoto has been heavily involved with (going by this ign interview he's directing the game even). That's awesome to me, it's the first time we'll get a feel of what a 3D title...

Re: Samus in Ninja Gaiden

The game looks awesome, anyone with a list of complaints after watching that trailer must be the incredibly whiney type who feels the need to be overwhelmingly negative about anything Nintendo related or something. There's very little to go on from the trailer that lets you determine how the gamepla...

That video makes me cringe. The guy's attempts at humour are horribly forced, I only watched for a couple of minutes but the only thing I got from it was the desire to scream at him to shut the fuck up.

Re: Man, what is Yasumi Matsuno's beef with religion?

If you focus on upgrading your weapons and shit for a while as soon as you have some decent ones Vagrant Story becomes piss easy, from what I remember anyway. I liked the game for the depth of customization and because the battle system was very unique and fresh at the time. I don't remember jack sh...

Re: Best. Studio. Debut. Ever... EVER.

I was interested in the game upon its announcement but the trailer is essentially a DMC5 with a female playable lead and a ridiculous amount of perversion.

I think I'm probably already permanently burned out on these type of games.

Re: Sonic and the Quest for Phallic Compensation

I think it looks okay so far, promising in that nothing seems overly horrible (always an instant plus) and that the visuals are looking fairly decent. Still not sure if the gameplay will really "work" though and the amount of grey castles in the trailer is a bit offputting. Still, can't say no to a ...

Predicting some kind of horrible dispute between Activision and Nintendo now for screwing them over with their guitar grip. I don't know if they could even realistically make a DS-i specific version either assuming the only place it could plug in would be the SD card slot. Typing that made me realis...

This isn't about the game not being "hardcore" or anything- this is about it being a game that penguins can play. That's just to promote the fact you don't need to hold the controller to play it, so don't actually need fingers. It doesn't mean that there's no gameplay whatsoever (though I'm sure so...

Well, and I guess Punch-Out, but my brain really struggles to imagine any way where that isn't going to control terribly If they had the balls to make the default control scheme 2 Wii remotes, both with Wiimotionplus then it could potentially control amazingly well. Of course, naturally that isn't ...

Anyone who wants to whine and cry that it's not any type of hardcore game is a massive baby. Regardless of whether this is actually going to turn out well or not yet, you can't fault them for trying a completely unique control scheme that works! Unless you'd rather Naka was still at Sonic team pumpi...

"Weird"? It could've easily been real time action, featuring optional character switching to take advantage of strengths and weaknesses. Pull out the optional part and you've got Sonic Heroes alright. What I meant was, just because people didn't like it in Heroes doesn't mean it's a fundimentally f...
