Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

Ugh number one: Those first two Yoshi games blew ass.

Ugh number two: Mario Wiki.

Sometimes I wonder if some of you guys actively want new Sonic games to be bad.

Re: We few, we happy, we Smash Bros. in arms.

I did kinda get the sense that Sakurai himself cares about it a lot less this time. He's probably tired as hell of Smash Bros.

Re: We few, we happy, we Smash Bros. in arms.

- Mario's face looks really stiff. - Peach's face looks really stiff and her nose looks comically small compared to the previous two games. - Everything about the way Bowser looks and animates is stiff. - DK looks like a rubber doll with fake hair, and his mouth is duck-shaped. - Samus now looks lik...

Re: We few, we happy, we Smash Bros. in arms.

Aside from Mega Man and the obvious simple ones like Villager, Pikachu and Kirby, damn near everybody's model has some sort of bizarre quirk. DK, Bowser, Peach, etc.

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

Nintendo could announce that they were giving away a free 5-star turkey dinner with gravy, fresh mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, mixed veggies and fresh stuffing with every system...

...and people would STILL complain that they forgot the parsley.

^ It's not for Wii. It's for Wii U. It doesn't use a Wii Remote, it uses the GamePad.

Re: Mo' hardware, mo' problems

A) Super Mario 3D Land was bitchin' and 2) Multiplayer in a 3D Mario game (that isn't a separate battle mode) is kind of a big deal. Come to think of it, playable Peach and the return of the abilities from SMB2 are kind of a big deal as well depending on one's perspective. Also Donkey Kong Country T...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

Except you can't ignore the extra gameplay in SA1 because in order to unlock Super Sonic and thus see the ending you have to beat the game with everybody.

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

Part of the reason for its mediocrity is because they were forced to spread development time and resources between it and the main game. This is the problem that plagued '06 and both Sonic Adventures - It's not that the extra gameplay was inherently bad, it's that they were in essence forced to deve...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

Yeah, when I first say the Werehog I though "Huh, Sonic goes Runaway Brain," which is my favorite Mickey Mouse anything. You can go dark and have fun with it, guys (just maintain a modicum of perspective)! That said though, in the tug-o'-war of design complementing function, the former did in no wa...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

...I didn't hate the Werehog. Yes having a beat-em-up there was terribly out of place, but the whole idea of the Werehog as a character didn't bother me at all. Probably would've been better as a standalone game (after all, the original title is "Sonic World Adventure), but then again....so would ev...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

I also don't recall Eggman ever actually taking control of or teaming up with Dark Gaia at any point during Unleashed. All I remember is him building Eggmanland. If I'm wrong, somebody refresh my memory. I remember somebody on here (I forget who) once suggested that a good way to subvert the Really ...

To be fair, at least now the betrayal is gotten out of the way at the beginning of the game rather than at the end.

It almost looks like a revival of Sonic Xtreme.

I personally really love the design of those new bad guys.

I also noticed Sonic's running animation is the Super Peel Out.

I wasn't saying it was a problem with the physics. I was pointing it out as an example of them doing something such that they'd be able to avoid getting the physics right.
