Re: The number 1 conundrum

To me it's more about sexism than actual effort. I don't think either gender should demand the other to do something with the toilet if they can't offer a legitimate reason for it. Leaving the bathroom to stink? Okay, that's a good reason, but urine doesn't leave much in the way of smell after you f...

The number 1 conundrum

I've been thinking about something that has always brought my piss to a boil. In most modern societies, any bathroom that is used by at least one female is ruled by the ominous commandment of leaving the toilet seat down after use. The question is: why? I've asked this to several women, and neither ...

Re: What are you playing today?

I bought Lost Winds , finished it in one sitting and never went back to it. It took me about 3 hours, I think, but I enjoyed it. I just keep forgetting I have it, so I guess it's not all that memorable. I want to try the Bit Trip games definitely I only recommend these if you have a lot of patience ...

Re: Slash, wheeze, slash, wheeze

Finished the sixth dungeon. There's nothing as annoying as Wind Waker (at least not yet) Soon enough, child. SOON ENOUGH. Just so we're clear, you're talking about the tadnotes, right? Because I'd hate to think there's something worse around the corner. Not that the idea for the last quest doesn't ...

Re: Slash, wheeze, slash, wheeze

Midna offered you advice if you asked for it, or if it took you too long to solve a certain problem. Fi tells you that a boss key chest has an 85% probability of containing a boss key.

I probably wouldn't mind her so much if she didn't treat the player like a retard.

Re: Slash, wheeze, slash, wheeze

I'll note that all these are completely optional. You have to explicitly press the button for these messages to ever show up, so if you've already decided you dislike Fi, the only reason you would bother doing so would be so you could later bitch about it on an internet message board. Okay. I'll gu...

Re: Slash, wheeze, slash, wheeze

I didn't mind the Triforce quest. By that point I was all ready to start exploring the entire ocean and fill up my map, so getting the Triforce pieces just happened naturally as a fruit of that labor. I had a lot of fun finding out what I was gonna find on the next unexplored island. Wind Waker real...

Re: Slash, wheeze, slash, wheeze

What about having to sit through an explanation of each item whenever you first pick it up after turning the game on? Don't you just love that? Especially while you're hunting bugs! I liked Midna like any sane human being should, but would you really have preferred to just have Midna again rather th...

Re: Slash, wheeze, slash, wheeze

I think this is the only time I've really cared about Zelda as a character. Sure, she's not her usual royal, knowledgeable and quasi-holy self, but in turn, she's much more relatable and less bland. She acts like your typical girl next door, and since she's been Link's best friend since they were li...

Re: Software is for pussies.

I've always assumed there were no restrictions about that sort of thing. I know I've bought my share of American games with an European credit card, so I don't see how the opposite would be any different (correct me if I'm wrong). If so, you could just try Amazon. They were showing off the Vita near...

Re: Sega release trailer for.. Sonic CD? What?

It's a lovely port, for sure. The only thing that bugs me is how getting all the ring UFOs in succession no longer nets you 300 rings. I'm sure that was the case in the PC demo, at least. I tried registering at that Sonic Retro forum to tell Christian that, but they have some kind of asinine approva...

Re: Ever wonder what Sonic's singing voice would sound like?

These are all fanwank. Aw. Well, that's a shame. I'm generally terrible at making out the lyrics in songs, let alone when they're sung in broken Engrish with all sorts of background noise going on. In response to the original post, I think Sonic just works better with instrumental songs. However, I...

Re: Ever wonder what Sonic's singing voice would sound like?

There were these idiots at the Sonic Retro forum saying the words were "Egg's gonna kill you, Egg's gonna kill you, Egg's gonna kill you, oh no oh no" (seriously) which I found so deeply revolting that I spent a long time listening to that part of the song over and over until I came up with that. I...

Re: Don't step in the Pharaoh

What's wrong with just sticking to final thoughts? The only inconvenient I can see with that is the disappearance of aggregate scores, but those are even more bullshit by default anyway. When I'm dubious about a game, I usually just visit forums or read the general consensus about it on Wikipedia, n...

Also, did anyone else try the demo of Rayman Origins? I have only one thing to say: one hit kills what the hell Ancel I'm too old for that shit It's like watching a cartoon where the main character keeps dying. I think what keeps it from getting frustrating is that you have unlimited lives, unlike ...

Re: Sega release trailer for.. Sonic CD? What?

This is really just complaining for the sake of complaining. There will always, always be people out there who do it, no matter how ridiculous their reasons are. If they had decided to re-release the game with no changes at all, people would say the developers were lazy and only cared about making s...

Re: So I'm an ambassador now

I'm mostly concerned with how ugly things get when they're squashed. Older games aren't that bad, but everyone seems to enjoy watching TV in 16:9 regardless of the intended aspect ratio. Everything gets so squashed it looks like someone sat on the Farnsworth Parabox. Some Master System games have a ...

Re: So I'm an ambassador now

I have tried multiple times to try and understand why anyone would want to kill the original aspect ratio just to cover the entire screen. But I can't. It just seems stupid to me no matter how I look at it. So yeah, black bars. I'm fine with zooming as long as the original aspect ratio is kept and i...

I only started on Metal Gear Solid 4 a couple days ago... I actually only got round to finishing that a month ago. I started it a year before, but jesus, those opening hours are dull... and the rest isn't a huge improvement. It's an underdeveloped overproduced pile of shite. I used to give Kojima a...

Re: Smarmy plaster had it coming

When I was a kid, one of my classmates accidentally hit his head against a door at school. After he started crying like a pussy, one of my other classmates came in, told him to man up, and then smashed a hole on the door with his own head. He smashed a hole with his head . The door wasn't in very go...

I spoiled a couple of cutscenes for myself and I liked what I saw. They had the same lighthearted humor from Sonic Colors without the odd cringeworthy moment or two. Tails's reaction to the pink water from Chemical Plant is a clever and subtle throwback to the players' experiences with it. The dialo...

I'm a Sony Game Tester. I'm currently on a title that will be released in November. The game's extremely beautiful to look at. I will have to echo GG! that the only possible way they can be making a profit from this is if they've got a south Asian sweatshop where droves of dirty 10-year old kids ar...

Re: There is a Sonic webcomic and it is ok

I always try to race the water in Carnival Night too. Sometimes Sonic gets stuck on the surface and goes down along with the water. Fun! The Knuckles glitch in Mushroom Hill you're referring to is that the two vines eventually stretch so much that they become invisible. Knucklehead appears to be fro...
