Re: It followed me home

Tail Concerto is one of those games that I always had a sort of passing interest in, but never enough to actually go out and pick it up. Back when I had a modded PSP I downloaded an ISO of the game, but it just sat on my hard drive until I needed some more space. So what I'm saying is I will probabl...

Re: Silver and Gold have I some

I've logged a shitload of hours into Sapphire over the last few days. I forgot how damn engrossing these games could be. My current team: Lv. 33 Grovyle, "Oskar" (m) Lv. 32 Mightyena, "Raksha" (f) Lv. 32 Trapinch, "Lagi" (m) Lv. 32 Skarmory, "Roc" (m) Lv. 30 Azumarill, "Bleu" (m) Lv. 26 Linoone, "Ra...

Re: Rebirth of Rocket Possum

Are we arguing about the merits of Rocket Knight Adventure? Because I'll cut any bitch that speaks ill of that game. It's a classic, and for good reason; great gameplay/game mechanics, beautiful graphics, great art design, lovely music, a nice challenge, immense amounts of charm... I could go on. De...

Re: Here be dragons

It's a movie. Get the fuck over it. Given that I make a living from animation, and take alot of pride in my work, I'm going to tell you to go fuck yourself. Yeah, it's a movie. It's a family movie. It's produced by Disney . Why wouldn't the protagonist be brought back from the brink by a kis...

Re: Here be dragons

Ratatouille was awesome. It wasn't their best work, but it was so damn charming. And effortlessly so, I felt. Wall-E still gets my vote for best Pixar movie. I cared so much for that damn robot! I love the "space dance," if that doesn't affect you in some small way I do not think I would be far off ...

Re: Here be dragons

At the very least, I've heard that Cars 2 will not only be a true race movie, but will take place across all of Europe, so it might actually be watchable. How exactly would being set in Europe make Cars anymore watchable. Unless you're some kinda Europhile this makes absolutely no sense. It is stil...

Re: What are you playing today?

I find it irksome that Asha--or any WB/MW protagonists for that matter--did not make it into Allstar Racing, despite me not owning Allstar Racing. They could have included Joe Musashi on a horse or a hoverboard, Gilluis Thuderhead on one of those chicken/lizard things, Axel, Blaze & Adam in a liber...

Re: Buying NiGHTS. Yes or No?

Anyone ever get the opportunity to play Christmas NiGHTS? I remember it looking awesome, if only for the "Sonic into Dreams..." minigame. I own it, and it is awesome. I can get absolutely insane scores on Elliot's level (which is actually just Spring Valley, but backwards). The way they moved aroun...

Re: Oh boy a true ds successor

Motion control is still stupid, and I doubt Natal or Arc will change my mind, though I am welcome to have my viewpoint challenged (and no, nothing on Wii will). 3D movies are also stupid, and I prefer watching my moving pictures in good old-fashioned high-definition 2D. Result: I don't give half of...

Time to hook your Genesis up to the tv then. And shame on you for unplugging it in the first place!

I mean, I was right up there. The barrel of the gun was actually touching the glass. I was told I had to stand x number of feet away from the tv, and my score went down drastically. To this day, I hate that fucking dog.

Re: First game I ever played

Probably Duck Hunt. I distinctly remember standing right in front of the tv, and some (much) older relative telling me that I was cheating, and had to move back to play the game properly.

Re: Buying NiGHTS. Yes or No?

I got lucky and found a new, CIB NiGHTS/3D controller bundle for like $20 several years ago. What a steal. Yeah, back when I was in High School (and probably around the time I first started coming to The GHZ), I managed to pick up a new complete copy (with the controller) on eBay for right around t...

Re: The Lesser of Two Evils (PS2 Recommendations)

I'd just like to chime in and say that Shinobi and Ecco: DoF are poor imitations of their 16/32-bit namesakes. Shinobi bothers me because it's all bottomless pits and flashy kill moves. DoF bothers me because it's not Ecco the Dolphin 3 (I weep for Ecco's unfinished story arc :<). I guess if you don...

Re: There's a Thunderdome joke in here somewhere

Is it a Slim or Fat PS2? I have a black label copy of the game and a Slim, I'll try to load it up later when I have the chance. Wish I knew offhand if there were any well-known issues, but I've only played the game on PSX and PSP.

Re: There's a Thunderdome joke in here somewhere

Anyway, don't you read the papers? "Everyone" hates VIII, that's the point I was making. I rather like it. Yes! I agree with this. I'm a big fan of VIII, it gets a lot of unwarranted hate. My favorites are Tactics, XII, and VIII in roughly that order. I'd say VI and VII are the really overrated gam...

Re: Silver and Gold have I some

Ok. A turtle is still more interesting than a mudskipper. Dude, I'm sorry. A dragon is more interesting than a chicken or a gecko. Okay this just baffles me. You're stating these like they're common sense to anybody but I don't see how. Dragons are overused fantasy monsters. Turtles are common. Chi...

Re: Silver and Gold have I some

My opinions on the starters are this: Charmander and Squirtle are lame, because they're almost too simple. I like the simplicity. To me, Squirtle is a neat Pokemon with fun evolutions, and Mudkip is a terrible meme that was never even funny in the first place. But I think we can agree to disagree o...

Dude, I haven't even played any Pokemon since Gold, all I was commenting on was the lameness of the Gen 3 starters in comparison to those in Red & Blue. It may well be that every other Pokemon n this game is fucking amazing, but I wouldn't know, because I've played all of 15 minutes of it. e: lookin...

Re: Silver and Gold have I some

A squirrel/turtle hybrid is more interesting than a fucking mudskipper. He's not a squirrel turtle hybrid. Depicting turtles with tails is common in eastern art. This is common amongst some species of turtle by resperate by turning their anus inside out and using it like a set of gills. Ok. A turtl...

Re: What are you playing today?

I would like to chime in and say that Metroid Prime is a great game, and one of the few Nintendo titles that I have any real passion for. Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission were fun, but I didn't really see any reason to return to them after I'd made my first run through. Metroid Prime Pinball was dece...
