I actually think that the main reason Mario's new characters work so well is that few of them act in a way that goes against the grain of the general Mario atmosphere--and if they do, they do it in a way that isn't unpleasant. For example, Wario and Shadow are both pseudo-clones of the main characte...

What about the Sonic OVA (not X)? I thought that was really good, lighthearted, fun and slapsticky while still managing to look pretty nice. The backgrounds were gorgeous, especially in the Land of Darkness and Eggland/Robotropolis/whatever they called it. But the idea that they may be making a NEW ...

If you have a DS, then you should spring for Gunstar Super Heroes for the GBA! It's by Treasure, and though some people dislike the fact that it doesn't have weapon combining like the original, I think it holds up very well. Great graphics, lots of bosses, lots of enemies, lots of explosions and gun...

My mom and I couldn't stop laughing when we first heard about this, especially when they showed pictures and it turns out people got terrified over Lite Brites. Due to that, I've actually been rewatching my ATHF Vol.1 DVD too; I stopped watching the series around Final Mooning when they actually man...

Here's a couple sketches and things I've done lately. I've sort of gone with a "knight and fantasy" theme. Clockwork Knight - Chelsea and Soltia WIP (yeah, it does look a little dodgy, but blame that on watching too much Revolutionary Girl Utena. Soltia's just kissing her hand.) CK - Tongara and Che...

Whoa, this is a really interesting thread. Thanks so much for translating all this, Michael! The slightly disparaging tone about Oil Ocean is a bit funny to me, since that's one of my favorite Sonic 2 zones. I guess the music and the tone of the level is a bit un-Sonicy, but I think it's really appe...

Yeah, the OCRemix forums! That's such a weird coincidence. Small world~ I'm actually listening to No Time Blues at the moment and it's coming through really well, I've got no problem with the quality. And now that I think about it, I don't think any of these are actually incomplete at all, but the e...

Also, so long as we're sharing Clockwork Knight memorabilia, I've begun to rip some of the tunes from the game (Via emulator, but most of them don't sound half bad). I have no place to upload them, but if there are a select few anyone wants, I'd be more than happy to email them or something. Galbad...

Shadow Hog, that is fantastic information and I love you very much for bringing it to light ♥ But yeah, that minigame looks like a real bust, which is a shame. I loved CK2, and the title "Clockwork Knight 3" is so misleading! The look of the game reminds me a bit of Quinty/Mendel Palace, though, but...

You know, I could have sworn that I saw a page with a screenshot or two from the Clockwork Knight prototype movie, which had Tongara fighting some enemy with an umbrella instead of a key. I can't seem to turn the page up at the moment, though. Wish I could help you on the Bomberman-like CK game, too...

He still reminds me of Metal Slug/Gear/____! Although I was surprised that you said people were mistaking him for a Civil War reenactment character. I thought the hat was just a sort of mountaineering hat. The bells are just adorable, though. I love how they're roughly the same color as the rest of ...

Tis a fair point, and one I should've probably addressed before getting so overzealous. Many of the series mentioned in the thread would be pretty easy to find, however. Things like a compilation for one certain company (I think someone mentioned a Treasure collection) would be pretty fresh, but I ...

In fact, I've noticed a few people clamouring for compilations of game series that only ever had two or three, maybe four, entries in the first place. Surely it wouldn't be that hard to go out and actually 'collect' them yourself? Oh, and Clockwork Knight ftw tbh. Doesn't deserve a Mega Collection ...

I was kidding, you know. Also eliminate Mario's brown hair! His mustache is black, why is his hair brown? All black or Nintendo gets a smack, I always say. Wow, I can't believe I never noticed that until you mentioned it. Now I can never un-notice it and I really wish they'd make his hair black or ...

Wow, that boss battle looks like a lot of fun! I can't wait until this game is released, I just love the Paper Mario style and it looks like it's adapting to the 2D platforming mechanics pretty well. On the topic of the NiGHTS comic: the first three weren't bad, I liked them a lot, but the second se...

You know what, my friend got me New Super Mario Bros. for my birthday not too long ago. I've actually been playing it quite a bit and was really enamored with it at first, but now the charm is wearing off and a lot of the complaints people have been making are becoming really evident. I'm really ver...
