Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive
Is it just me or are the 90 degree turns at running pace rather awkward looking?

Re: Sonic Generations
Assuming the Unleashed team are behind this game, they will have had up to 2 and a quarter years already to work on it. Hopefully, this increase in development time will have added to the quality of the final product!

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy
There's a fundemental problem with your last statement Kogen, in that NGamer gave Sonic Unleashed 58%. Either they're really inconsistent with their ratings, or there's an appreciable difference in quality this time round!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFNIgxtLBho I'm sure someone is itching to disagree. Looks like shit. Yeah, it looks like shit if you've had your eyes surgically glued into your anus. Honestly, I used to like coming to these forums because the members here demanded higher standards for the series th...

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy
There's nothing 'punk rock' about Sonic soundtracks in any form. Well OK! I really do not know what to call it, then. My point is that songs like 'Escape the City' can sound cool to 15 year olds and so on, as well as people of lesser ages. What we get now I would have called 'gay' when I was 12. Ko...

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy
"Reach for the stars" does have some of the worst lyrics ever in a Sonic game, but I couldn't really care less about that either. Everything else about the song is quite likeable - and considering the light hearted context of the game, an inter-gallactic theme park, it has just about the right feel.

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy
There's whinging and then there's the absurd, which is this. No, they really do look like shit, have a look at the larger image. To give my remark a little context though, I am impressed overall by the visual standard of this game, I just hope that they can up the polygon count (without of course a...

The former. I did wonder whether they'd do this to be honest, it seemed an obvious way integrate donuts into the gameplay. However, this is Sega we're talking about here.

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy
Though it pains me to say so, this game does look rather good. My over riding concern now is whether or not the controls will feel responsive enough, and from what I've seen of Sonic's movements at slower speeds within a relatively confined three-dimensional area, his controls seem as heavy as those...

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
Well to avoid opening a can of worms with a question about Sonic's design, what exactly the issue with this remix? As far as I can tell, it seems to satisfy most of the criteria for a classic title screen piece, with an upbeat, catchy, recurring melody. Is it the intruments that are the problem or w...

I think it's safe to say, that everything about this is light years ahead of Sega's attempt. With the alternative title screen Sonic art too, it makes you feel a little cheated!

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
Speed is something that is not given; but rather earned through dedication. Speed is not found by simply pushing a boost button, but by building momentum. It is the reward for skill in the face of difficult challenges – this kind of speed is the most exhilarating, not only because it is fast, but b...

Re: Sonic Unleashed?
For those of you who like the look of the Werehog sections, can I ask why? To me, the platforming seems very generic and uninteresting. I'd even argue *dare I say it*, that some bits look too slow, such as the walking over the narrow ledges with a bottomless pit underneath. I like slower platforming...

Re: Sonic Unleashed?
I never said it wasn't an integral part of the gameplay. What I am trying to say is that as the main advertising focus of the series, speed then became the single component which everyone thinks makes the games as good as they are, and this is not the whole picture.

Re: Sonic Unleashed?
There are too many speed boosters in this trailer, this is my only major criticism. They could substitute most of them for rings instead so it would feel like you'd actually achieved your speed boost when you get one. Apart from that, it looks like a breath of fresh air and a joy to play. I love the...

Re: Sonic Unleashed?
Actually, there seems to be a little confusion surrounding this, Game Informer who also attented the event say that you can come to a complete standstill. I'm pretty sure that IGN and Gamespot would have said so as well to be honest if you were constantly moving ala Secret Rings, because they did so...

Re: "Sonic Chronicles" trademarked by Sega
Two seriously pointless videos there. Why on earth would we want to know about how they developed a game until after we'd seen at least more than 10 seconds of the game itself?
