Re: New Game by Prope: Sky Knight Rodea (Wii/3DS)
I picked it up and am on the last world right now. It's fun for the most part and is VERY Sonic Team-y. There are boost pads, homing attacks, and checkpoints that ring like bells when you hit them. It wouldn't be an unfair description to call the game the love child of Nights into Dreams and SA1. Th...

Re: Satoru Iwata (1959-2015)
It's upsetting how few developers there are left that are like Iwata. The man was dedicated to fun, plain and simple. I hope his influence will be felt for years to come.

I was going to get mad but then remembered the KFC/711 tie-ins that PSO2 had and got less mad.

Re: Interesting Sonic Team interviews
what a fascinating interview. It's clear that Naka idolizes Miyamoto and rightfully so. It's almost creepy how prophetic their closing comments about smash brothers were. Now here we are and Sonic has already been in two of them.

Re: Sonic 2016 Rumours
The big problem with the Olympics games and a sub-conscious part of why they're not very fun to me is that it feels like the developers don't have fun making the game themselves. The animations are always stiff and feel like they were done with the bare minimum of effort, There are rarely any very c...

Re: Sonic 2016 Rumours
I remember reading this "leak" when it was first posted months(years?) ago. I would say that if any of this were true, it's definitely changed since then. Sega seems to be shifting their priorities in general to mobile gaming so it's no surprise that only runners of the titles mentioned has actually...

Why would they go? As near as I can tell, sega doesn't even make games anymore save for total war.

Re: The death of Doctor Eggman
Now that's a damn shame. I know Sonic X was nothing to write home about but I have many a fond memory of this man's excellent take on the character. He was threatening when he had to be, and soft when the moment called for it. I truly believed he would never kill Sonic if actually put to the test.

Re: New Game by Prope: Sky Knight Rodea (Wii/3DS)
there was a good amount of new gameplay footage in this morning's Japanese ND presentation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRDdcZTKHHU I am so curious about how this baby plays it hurts. It looks quite handsome on 3ds, for what it's worth, even if the wiiu version doesn't look very impressive at all.

man, that short bit of footage at the end looked like great, arcade-y stuff. I have a lot of hope that this will be the free roaming Nights successor we've always dreamt(!) of. Did anyone else pick up ivy the kiwi? It was a good, if unambitious time.

Re: coming to theaters near you
It's very easy to get a PG-13 rating in a live-action action film. Stuff just has to realistically explode, and someone has to swear. Even a straight live action adaptation of Shadow the Hedgehog would get a PG-13. It would also be amazing; someone make that please. It's more complex than that, and...

Re: coming to theaters near you
The very fact that they're shooting for a pg-13 rating means they have no idea what they're doing. PG-13s are deceptively hard to get from a franchise unwilling to show characters decapitated; the only way you can get that kind of rating is with relatively graphic on-screen deaths(for instance Loki ...

Well, the artwork is nice. All I remember about this game was that it was dated as fuck looking back for wii when it was announced. Here's hoping it has some fan-fucking-tastic gameplay to fall back on.

Seriously. Colors/Generations felt like that hopeful moment when your grandmother with Alzheimer's remembered your name. I honestly don't see how this franchise can keep going under the current leadership when they simply don't understand what made the original titles great. Not one fucking bit. The...

Re: New Sonic game for 2015
Finally, people will no longer have to reference Sonic 06 when they talk about the worst Sonic game! I'm still hoping, secretly, that this will rid it of its stigma and make SEGA release a Director's Cut with bugs fixed, controls revised, and loading times shortened—because the level design was act...

Re: Sonic 1 Story Boards
So it's now confirmed that Sonic was intended to have "shitty friends" since the very first game. Will people stop using that as lazy criticism of the later games now? I don't see how an idea they obviously thought was a really bad idea and didn't go forward with somehow invalidates the criticism t...
