Re: Science has finally answered the eternal question

I don't think we're just talking about pieces of artwork, I think we're talking about the characters conceived for (eventual) commercial purposes.

Re: Science has finally answered the eternal question

You're just as cold as the "legal" rights person, don't you get it? if you create a character you are the creator therefore no one knows the character as much as you do! even if someone buys your character, its still YOUR character! Technically, if it's work for hire, that's not case. If you get in...

Re: The world is black and white, and also very mad.

And I know who developed it, but did Japanese people do the English voices or did SEGA? I don't know about the rest of the cast, but the commentators are Greg Proops (Whose Line) and John DiMaggio (Futurama), so probably outside of the regular voice talent pool. I'm not surprised they're the highli...

Re: Sonic and the Quest for Phallic Compensation

What do you think? Sympathy, apathy, burn at the stake? I certainly wouldn't want that poor bastard's job. Go into this project with a knowingly mismatched staff and time budget (as per normal) and the requirement of making the game's premise un-Sonic-y by definition. I'll be honest, though, if he ...

Re: Sonic and the Quest for Phallic Compensation

The presentation is glorious, but even it doesn't feel appropriate for a Sonic game. Gameplay looks closer to Heroes with a dash of Werehog than an off-rails Secret Rings to me. Half-ass combat and QTE, platforming existing only to get Sonic from one to the next. For years, people barked to get Soni...

Re: Sonic and the Quest for Phallic Compensation

Camera or whatever flaw it may be, it all boils down to the same principle: Is it worth the effort? How hard is it to adapt to the flaw, and if you do, how much fun will you have? It's hard to argue that SA1 (and most of the games around that smoothing-out-the-3D-lumps era) didn't have their fair sh...

Re: Sonic and the Quest for Phallic Compensation

Another idiot who thinks Tails' ringcount is actually relevant when he only gets rings Sonic misssed. Fantastic. Apparently you've never played with a friend. Shocker! But even alone, I've had problems with Tails getting in front of me and getting the rings that were about to come to me naturally, ...

Re: Loud obnoxius critic reviews Sonic cartoons

I heard Biolizard's first form was meant to be fought with Knuckles. I have no irrefutable evidence to back this claim, but it seems plausible. I have no idea what stage that would have been planned for, but it seems like beating that thing without a homing attack would be comparable to trying to c...

Oh. Oh. Imagine this. They work her into the next 3D game.

And her pre-teen 4Kids VA doesn't really know the difference between an Australian accent and cockney.

Re: Loud obnoxius critic reviews Sonic cartoons

Why is it you run into more tranny cross-dressers in the Final Fantasy fanbase than anywhere else? It is just so random and unexpected considering the franchise's content, right? I'm not saying it doesn't fall under the umbrella, I'm just saying you don't hear of Bugs Bunny, Felix the Cat or Garfie...

Sally, anyways. It was like there was another wave when Amy grew tits, and then the final massive one when Rouge and Shadow were unveiled. ...Seriously, why is it that you run into more furries in the Sonic fanbase than anywhere else? Why does this innocuous (until Rouge, anyway) series pervert so m...

Re: More Mario & Sonic at the Olympics?

Remembering that the original was the first game to include both Mario and Sonic after years of speculation, this one is going to look like a windfall as far as the anticipation goes. And as far as everything else goes, first game was awful, I don't forecast improvements of any kind.

Re: Sonic Unleashed?

Unless you're playing Sonic 2 or S3&K as Tails, in which case he doesn't yell "SONIC!" every time he dies. Not that the games had voice acting back then, but that's exactly my point. He was much more tolerable when he was silent, not to mention you could play as him for the entire game and take on ...

Re: Sega's 12-inch pianist.

The question is if he'd want to. There's always a chance that it was Sega's influence that drove him away from the series, but it would appear that he's running from what his brainchild has grown into. Also, has Prope unveiled anything that doesn't sport a flagrant lack of quality control? I'd be ha...

You know it all stems from some guy at a desk demanding viral advertising because he's heard the term a lot and doesn't want to seem like he doesn't know what it means.

Re: Sonic Unleashed?

My main problem with Chip is he's like Chris in how he's a sidekick and simultaneously utterly useless. That and the over-the-top attempt at cuteness, and the "goddamn he sure does love food" bit got really old really fast. Mind you, they've done worse, but if you're going to pick the worst game cha...
