Re: Revenge of the nerds

I just want to say that I finally read through this thread and endorse every aspect of it.

Good work; I expect some conclusions to be reached.

Probably 12? Is there some uncertainty about your age?

Where will you be if you can't find you?

Right here, apparently. I wrote a thing about this place a while back. By the way, there's a prophecy that the last two people who post here before the forum mysteriously disappears have to engage in a mortal duel. Also there's something about a (checks notes) camel spider. Does that mean anything t...

Hey, you guys are keeping the flame alive. Well done!

I've always wondered how Sonic Patrol Car played. Is this the first instance of Sonic talking, also? I didn't expect the music to be (mostly?) recycled.

Re: A joke

It's business as usual for a bartender, and one day as he is cleaning his bar when an unusual customer walks in. The man is dressed in an expensive suit, has a beautiful supermodel hanging off each arm, and has a limo parked outside. Furthermore, the man has an orange for a head. The customer sits ...

Re: The Saturn sounded like THAT?

I always remember :BEEEEEEEEP: as part of the Dreamcast startup, as I always had at least one VMS with dead batteries.

At one point a made a battery pack for my VMS that I could use with rechargeable batteries, but it didn't fit into the controller.

Re: A Dream

A couple times a month I dream that I've just woken up in an uncomfortable position and can't move anything but my eyes. Sleep paralysis , Wikipedia calls it. Usually there's also something going on, like wind blowing out the windows or someone breaking into my room. It used to freak me out, but now...

I played Sonic 2 a while back and was struck by how damn hard it is. How did I beat that game without savestates a million times?

If you've never had Honey Nut Cheerios with vanilla flavored soy milk, you should try it. It's my new favorites food.

Re: Happy new year.

I got married.

[It was a formality; we've been together for ages. We don't really buy into the idea that the state has any legitimate authority to recognize or not recognize our relationship, but my health insurance does.]

Re: What are you doing with your life?

I quit buying video games in 2002. Occasionally I'll play Guitar Hero or a multi-player Wii game at a friend's or load up an emulator, but post-Dreamcast video games never really captured my attention. Distance running has been my primary hobby since 2000. This is probably in part due to my playing ...

Do you remember Sprinkle Spangles? Those were so flipping good. The sprinkles were really hard, almost hard to chew. My mother would give it to us as a reward for doing good deeds.

IFor example, how widespread contraception lead to an increase of infidelity and divorce and ultimately, I assume, a lower quality of life for all involved. This is, in fact, incorrect: Why divorce is good for women . You can rail against divorce, but that divorce lowers quality of life for all inv...

Re: Seriously, why wasn't SegaSonic on Gems Collection?

The special stages run too fast. They were slower in the other versions. Yikes. Sonic CD's special stages, to me, were always fun for about 10 seconds, and then a tedious game of running, jumping, failing to hit the important UFO, chasing down the extra time UFO, chasing down the important UFO, jum...

If you haven't played them elsewhere, pick up Skies of Arcadia and Grandia 2.

The Power Stone games are also very good.

Crazy Taxi is also a must-have.
