A game called Sonic Origins came out

Sonic 1, 2, 3&K and CD. Widescreen, extras, yada yada. Unfortunately changed the music for Ice Cap, Launch Base and Carnival Night to even worse versions of the beta/PC tracks. Anyway, anyone playing it? Thoughts? (Yes, this is a dead forum and I'm shouting into a graveyard. But sometimes it's fun t...

This game is really good.

Piloting Robotnik's machine from Hydrocity is an all time classic moment.

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

So shortly after writing that (groan) I read this article. http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/05/28/sonic-lost-world-taking-a-page-from-mario-galaxy Sounds like there's more thought going into the gameplay changes than I initially may have thought. The discussion about regulating speed is interesting. ...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

So,I'm not nearly as impressed by this as most people are. I'm getting far more of a Sonic X-treme vibe than Mario Galaxy. What I mean by that is that the cylindrical stage design looks to primarily serve as a visual gimmick rather than an innovative gameplay experience. Sure there are a few moments...

Re: Wii U Launch

It is definitely time for console manufacturers to get out of the memory business and just let people use their regular hard drives, thumb drives and SD cards. I'd never have expected to see Nintendo leading the charge on that sentiment, though. Are there any good reasons not to at least sell one v...

Re: Wii U Launch

I like how the "deluxe", top of the range model has 32GB of storage space. They really don't understand the storage requirements of modern gaming, especially with the increasing focus on DLC. Currently I only own an old Xbox 360 Premium with a 20GB hard drive. It's almost entirely filled with Mass E...

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012

And once again 99% of the soundtrack is downright awful. What's the point of keeping Jun Senoue around anymore if this is what he craps out? At least don't leave him alone. The other games end up having better soundtracks when other composers get involved. As it is, I'd avoid this game simply to sa...

Actually, Land of Illusion on the Master System was definitely the better game.

Re: Mice and linguistic ruin

I recall the Master System Castle of Illusion being good, as far as Master System games go. My cousins had the Mega Drive version, with the decidedly less cheerful forest. The graphics were clearly better because it had twice as many "bits" and it was cool that you could carry multiple apples aroun...

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012

Well, not excited by the gameplay trailer. For all people can argue that Generations physics are wrong (and like Esrever said, with the upgrades, they feel pretty good, so Sega repeated the Secret Rings mistake), Sonic in Generations certainly felt a hell a lot less floaty than he did in Sonic 4 Epi...

How you do cereal: Step 1 - buy a cheap-ass Tesco branded (in UK) cereal. Cornflakes, bran flakes, rice krispies knock-off, whatever. Step 2 - buy cinnamon powder Step 3 - buy milk. Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012

Let's all pretend that Sega haven't just made a good Sonic game, otherwise all this shock just wont make sense! Seriously though, Generations was good. There's no Werehog, no princess, no gun combat, no fishing, etc, etc. The level design was solid, the 2D physics were the best they've been in like ...

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012

The fact it now has a new engine means that we could probably may as well think of it as "Sonic 5". I'm pretty much just looking at it as a new game and seeing what they come up with.

Re: Sonic Generations

The gameplay is looking consideribly improved in the 3DS version now, although far from perfect. The fact they made the necessary change of music for Big Arm though is a good sign, especially since the new remix is awesome. 7 zones though is a bit balls when the console version has 9. I mean, if it ...

What do they even have left to offer these days, Street Fighter iterations? It's not the '90s anymore! Resident Evil 6! Which will probably launch the same day as Gears of War 3....because it will have moved so far in that direction in line with the new Japanese ideology that "only Westernised game...

Re: It's Dr. Eggman's 20th Birthday.

Bit late, but I wanna say I'm one of the weirdos whose first experience with the franchise was on the Master System. In Europe it was pretty common that people played the Master System version of Sonic 1 as kids, especially if they were from a lovely working class background like myself. I thought i...

Re: Sonic Generations

I wonder if he remembers how well Sonic Adventure 2 Battle sold for a third-party Gamecube title, even though it was released long after Sonic's 10th birthday. They made SA2:B in roughly 5 months after the DC version's release, so i'm guessing that particular port was an attractive idea because it ...

I don't think anyone who regularly posts on any sort of Sonic fansite really has a right to judge these people. Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

That expanded cast has kind of spoiled the DS version a bit.

I'd been happy to think that Sonic 2k6's plot as a whole had been completely and utterly written out, as in, Silver doesn't exist, full stop. Seeing him in other titles is just flat out gay as hell.
