Re: Where will you be if you can't find you?
That put a smile on my face. It also brought me back, apparently. Is this the start of the great GHZ reunion I've been waiting for?

Re: New Sonic game for 2015
I hate that they've demystified Knuckles' rock hard fist nipples. Can he still glide? It's going to look very intimidating.
So much better.

Re: New Sonic game for 2015
The future is mummies. Did Sonic tape the shoes to his legs? Are his feet taped up? Did he really need to tape over the buckles? The real reason these designs bother me is that they didn't change the faces at all to suit the exaggerated proportions. Taking themselves way too seriously right now. Wha...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive
Unfortunately, "you're playing it wrong" is never a reasonable argument. Isn't it? I get that a game should be fun no matter how you're playing it, but ignoring key functions of the game is only doing a disservice to yourself and everyone involved. That video Gsilv posted is actually some of the on...

Re: Ken Penders owns a bunch of Sonic's shitty sidekicks
Now I haven't really been following this, but it seems like they've created a new character- "Thrash the Devil"- with the sole explicit purpose of Auschwitzing echidnas. That is so funny.

Wow, the Genesis Unit from Wily Wars. That's so obscure it's nearly off-putting. We know you're cool, Spaz.

8 years and a custom member title later and I still feel like I was only ever a spectator soaking in the rays of more intelligent people. Will anyone remember me? Will those memories be fond? You guys were sort of my primary peer group from early teens all the way up through high school, so you're g...

Who was the first person to use Ghizz? I feel like I heard it only a few months ago and now I can't associate this place with any other name. It is a consummate union, as of controller and Rumble Pak. Someone's been keeping track of all the games that have been posted in the Now Playing field, right...

I know I'm just being argumentative now, but I'm baffled that you could ever consider Ico to be vapid, or SotC to be kitschy (seriously?). I don't really, they look good. Big, sparse n' moody done right. Maybe Journey starts looking better further in, but I've been instructed not to watch more than...

Dear Esther is an amazing game, by the way. You should all pay money for it.

Re: Journey
Yeah, see, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus would've succeeded as games entirely without the vapid moody minimalist contemporary art student kitsch. Ico sports some of the most sophisticated collision detection I've yet seen in a platformer, with the player being able to climb just about anything he c...

I should have clarified that by "appropriate", I just meant someone with a similar level of experience to you. Pair new players with other new players, and experienced players with other experienced players. What, experienced at playing games in general, or just Journey? It's already been establish...

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012
As for the pine tree BG layer, I'm refraining from passing judgment until I am 100% sure the levels that feature it aren't all parts of a bigger Floating Island Zone or whatever. I'm not complaining about it being the same species of evergreen (though that's definitely a problem, one coniferous for...

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012
That's funny, I'd say I never had a problem telling Sonic apart from his surroundings ever (except G Sonic)! It's kind of hard to lose track of the neon blue object that's always at the center of the screen. Dimps absolutely does suck at everything though, let's be clear about this. S4E1 at its best...

What, in caring about the game at all? I don't really, I just can't pass up a good opportunity to deflate excitement. Do go on, though! You know you're onto something when The Sniffler thinks you're full of shit.

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012
Episode 2 already looks better because, from the screenshots/videos I've seen, I can actually SEE Sonic, as well as the scenery, whose coloring scheme unlike Episode 1's doesn't hurt my eyes. The trees do look terrible, but everything else so far looks okay. Well yeah, it's a given that a lack of d...

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012
Splash Hill was a disaster, but why don't I ever see any bitching over any other zone? The rest of the game looked just dandy to me, they had a much easier time keeping the background visuals consistent when they weren't fussing with organic material that they couldn't figure out how to arrange or r...

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012
This No Imagination guy? He gets it. This is some of the ugliest shit that ever came out of Dimps. For all of its inconsistency and lacquered grass, S4E1 at least looked like a Sonic game (which isn't all that surprising when they were just flat out copying existing zones anyway). This game has no s...

Re: Dinsey's Wreck-It Ralph: A love-letter to videogames
I can already tell that the scope for this is going to be too narrow. I want to see something resoundingly Japanese, like a DMC clone with over-the-top action scenes or a shmup with engrish dialogue spoken with absolute confidence. Basically, it'll be great on the off-chance that anyone working on t...
