Gibs sums up the problem with newspaper comics perfectly... they're usually repetitive. The characters don't develop, their situations never change, repeat, repeat, repeat. It's sitcom syndrome: after the adventure, everything goes back exactly to the way it was before. It's a limitation of the medi...

I think Casino Night Act 2 still takes me the longest to beat, even knowing how to get passed those damn rotating cylinders. I don't think it's actually as long as Sandopolis Act 2, but there are so few places where you can get up to full speed... it's a slow slog. edit: Er, yes, I DO mean Carnival ...

That picture was actually drawn by Koji, the same person who does all the art for Sonic Cult. It is a pretty good replication of the Uekewa style, though! It's odd that there is no offical art of the new Metal Sonic. I suppose it makes sense that there are no Uekewa drawings of him, since they used ...

Jon Davies hasn't been drawing that comic since the mid eighties, and quite frankly, it amazes me that he has a hand in the writing at all anymore.
That article was a really interesting read, especially when I'm a aspiring cartoonist myself. It's tempting, but I don't think I'll follow his model. ;)

Megaman Network Transmission. I can't even beat the first bloody boss. Also, every once in awhile I take Viewtiful Joe off the shelf, get my ass kicked by level five, and then put it back up there. I can think of some other "shelved" games, but they were usually shelved because of boredom, not diffi...

Sonic Advance 3 isn't on brilliant, but IMO it's pretty decent. I'd probably call it the best traditional Sonic platformer ever made outside of the original Big Five. I would agree that it does feel rushed, particularly graphically, but it sort of succeeds in spite of itself. I can tell it's not as ...

Blaze is right... level design is the number one culprit. There is this sort of "elevated race track" phenomenon going on in the 3D games' level design... its gotten to the point where you can practically see more similarities between Sonic Heroes and F-Zero GX than you can between Sonic Heroes and ...

BWAHAHAH!
In other news, I'm 21, and I don't think a decent photo of me exists ANYWHERE.

What I don't understand is why we haven't seen more VARIATIONS on cell shading techniques. I mean, OK, so Jet Set showed us that we can make things have solid colour block shading and black outlines. I expected the visual floodgates to swing wide open after that, but no... everything is either regul...
