Re: Sonic Generations

I'd be considered a "classic fag" by anyone trying to define the fan base but I'm not opposed to multiple playable characters. The only problem that brings is when Sega forces us to play as the 11-12 extra characters in order to really complete the game. They should be supplementary like Tails and K...

Re: Ken Penders owns a bunch of Sonic's shitty sidekicks

And before anyone asks, yes, Scourge is also off-limits as he is derived from a character I created. And Evil Sonic is derived from Sonic, so there you go. The sad thing is, this sense of entitlement and ownership of derivative fan characters is extremely prevalent in the artistic community (or USE...

Re: Super Sonic Galaxy

I sort of like the sound of this because feels like the first title in ages which is neither being billed as a "return to Sonic's roots" nor has an obviously bad premise (such as Sonic with a sword). YES. i had a strange feeling when i saw this, and what you said pretty much sums it up. i guess i f...

Re: Master Chief enters the world of loli & mehca officially.

All cartoons are "anime" in Japan, from Tom & Jerry to Akira. This "distinction" is entirely a Western fabrication, and, honestly, baseless. Quoted for truth. There is a difference between a comic book and a graphic novel. One is a disposable, two-dollar thrill, the other is... well, a novel. But g...

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010

All of these ideas: Something about Sonic and lizards. Maybe Sonic HD will have lizards? Robot lizards? No, not even giant alien/god lizards. Just lizards. Maybe even a certain sarcosuchus, if we're lucky. = http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4107/4junud.gif But this one... Or maybe, a secret scene wh...

Re: A thought on Sonics future reputation.

Sonic's future reputation depends on Sega not being so deluded as to think we want every game to have treasure-hunting/team gameplay/guns/swords/werehogs/etc. Once Sega figures out who its fan base is Oh yeah? Which one? Yeah, the fan base is irreparably divided, but I think most people who fall un...

Re: A thought on Sonics future reputation.

Sonic's a product of the nineties because that's the last time he made consistently good games. Sure, his character and personality were practically designed to be a flash-in-the-pan trend for a specific era, but that wouldn't matter if there wasn't such an apparent drop in quality from the "classic...

Re: The Great Sonic Continuity Debate

Skipped to the last paragraph: Although in some ways it may be frustrating not to have a single, consistent continuity to reference, the reality is that there simply never was one. There, spoiled the ending. Welcome to the Sonic CuLT circa 2002. I'm sorry, but the fact someone wrote 19 pages on this...

Re: Loud obnoxius critic reviews Sonic cartoons

I don't know which characters were originally intended to be playable in SA2, but I remember reading something about a fan backlash of some sort being the basis for putting 12 characters in Heroes. Unfortunately, I can't verify that either since it was so long ago. :\ ...Which, theoretically, goes b...

Re: Loud obnoxius critic reviews Sonic cartoons

I was thinking about this last night. Heroes really is where the team started to pander to one notion or another in the fan community. Actually, didn't it start with SA2? Originally Tails and Knuckles weren't supposed to be in it, but there was a fan backlash and Sonic Team responded by including t...

Re: Post your artwork (56k warning)

I like the top one. All of the badnik's, Eggman, and his machine sort of form a circle around Sonic, making him and his actions the clear focus of the pic. The vertical one doesn't have that going for it and looks sort of disjointed and cluttered.

Re: Peter Moore did what jaded Sonic fans wanted to do

"If these brands were people, who would they be?" Ok, for one thing, who considers something like that meaningful business input? Seriously? It's a slightly offbeat way of doing market research but I can kind of understand why they did it. I guess if you know how people view your brand, it would be...

Look the thing I hate about grinding is that your stuck on a rail doing nothing pretty much. when you can run around you can move any direction and explore somewhat. grinding you just slide there and pretty much do nothing. I'd rather get from point A to point B with all sorts of complicated jumps ...

Interesting... I've played Phantasy Star II, and in the opening cutscene the main character has a dream about some girl fighting a huge dragon or something. Is Alis that character? She looks kind of familiar.
