Re: Sonic Unleashed?
Doesn't Fang have a profile on the official Sonic site? It's not like he's been gone THAT long, having appeared in Sonic Gems Collection and SA:DX's Game Gear minigames. And as that article said, he's even on the cover of some Archie comic. All of these have been in the past five years (?). There's ...

Re: Sonic Unleashed?
The layout for this particular level is interesting. Previous 3-D titles had linear paths surrounded by open space, creating the illusion that the level was more open ended. Of course, that wasn't the case since traveling too far off the path would send you falling to your doom. This level has an ul...

it felt like a musical just for the sake of having a musical That's how ALL musicals feel to me. I saw Titan A.E. and thought it was alright. I kept waiting for it to become as epic as I imagined it from seeing the trailer, but that never happened unfortunately. Either way, I enjoyed it enough to h...

Sonic spread in Sega Video Game Illustrations
Recently I picked up an art book containing promotional images for all the major Sega franchises from the late '80s and early '90s. It was a pretty good find since it has a lot of pictures I've never seen before, as well as commentary from the artists themselves. The book even briefly covers theory ...

I feel like that video was crafted for an audience of senior citizens who don't know what a video game is.

Re: Sonic Unleashed?
Sonic vs. Eggman isn't just better than Sonic vs. Water god/Demon/Lizard, it's more socially conscious. When Sonic's fighting Eggman, he's fighting pollution, tyranny, and obesity, the three biggest threats to modern civilization. He'd be a much more relevant video game character if they'd just reve...

Re: Sonic Unleashed?
That ending's actually funny, just for being so bizarrely unexpected. I like the series moving away from taking itself so seriously, especially after Sonic 2K6. I don't believe a word of the alleged story though, mainly because of Fang the Sniper being mentioned. I've always imagined that he belonge...

Re: Sonic Unleashed?
When I saw him, I got this funny mental image of Uekawa sneaking into other game companies' headquarters at night and rooting through their trash heap of rejected characters. But... seriously? Werewolves and chihuahuas? I don't think those two things can just be randomly combined into the same video...

Re: Sonic's 12 inches (you know you want it)
My friends and I play a game in which someone announces a task that needs to be done and the others respond by touching their noses and saying "Not it." Whoever touches their nose last usually has to complete the task. "Doing the dishes... Not it." "Mailing this month's rent check... Not it." "Starr...

Re: Post your artwork (56k warning)
For an anime look the nose definitely protrudes too much. She looks like Captain Janeway. Probably it's more a problem with the facial structure around her nose, if it were to curve into the nose more gradually it would probably be better, or at least get rid of some of those shadows. http://starqu...

I just saw it, and it's easily the greatest superhero movie I've ever seen. I usually hate the superhero movies... I see two guys in brightly colored costumes fighting on a building and it's supposed to be ~*REAL... It's all just asking me to suspend too much of my disbelief. But I can't remember th...

I used to read a lot of Sonic fan comics, actually. Years ago, there were a ton of good ones. I'm pretty sure the current author for the Archie series used to draw one as well. Anyway, here's what you've been looking for, Rappy: Sonic 3 & Knuckles : http://worryfox.deviantart.com (it's Abby's old de...

I don't understand the purpose of this debate, because it's obvious that after the emeralds are used for anything they immediately split apart, with one going to a tropical beach, another going to ancient ruins, another going to an aerial highway, another going someplace underwater... and so on. The...

Re: Invention Of the Year: The iPhone
Perhaps I spoke too soon. According to Simon Jeffery, "the iPhone is about as powerful as the company’s defunct gaming console, the Dreamcast." Maybe it's time for a change of heart on my part. If this is true, it'll be quite an interesting development in the future. Would that give the iPhone stat...

Re: Sonic and the Quest for Phallic Compensation
I thought about it, and if this turned out to be some kind of Dynasty Warriorsesque action game that has Sonic and Knuckles facing off against hundreds of classic robots in well-executed maps resembling past zones, I'd enjoy this more than any Sonic game I've played in the last ten or so years. Dare...

I don't get it. So there's the game with the werewolf, the one that's an RPG, and now one with a sword? Or does he have a sword in the RPG? I haven't been paying attention.

Whoa slow down there. All we've seen is a promo and some gameplay. Don't be so quick to claim they've handled this with complete grace until we've actually seen the approach taken in the game as opposed to a trailer. That blink 182 song and mystery kaiju still suggest that this is just another Soni...

Looking at some of the recent posts made me realize how so many people got used to the concept of Shadow carrying around an Uzi and such stuff. I still think it's incredibly stupid and sort of cringe whenever I see it, but so many other issues have arisen since then that it's become a moot point. W...
