I just don't see the appeal of these games when the glorious Crackdown did it two years ago with far more style and charm.
The art style of prototype really reminds me Shadow the Hedgehog.
Crackdown 2 is on it's way, no need for these emo pretenders.

Re: Hypothetical Sonic Adventure Remake
Well the original was plagued by far too many Sonic levels. The bulk of a remake should consist mainly of treasure hunting stages except you play as Shadow and occasionally the werehog. There is potential for hundreds of great weapons Shadow could wield but a sniper rifle is essential. The game shou...

This guy has done a great job of making this game look epic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhx-YFu3 ... annel_page.
If there was ever a Sonic movie, VE studios are the ones to do it.

Re: Sonic Unleashed?
Humans appearing in Sonic Adventure was the biggest change from the 16-bit games for me. In the past Sonic seemed to live outside of the human world with the cities far in the distance. I don't thnk they're really necessary and furries outside of the immediate cast are not desirable either.

Re: Sonic Unleashed?
It's almost like a complete stylistic and plot-wise reboot of the series. They've comletely disregarded the the angsty, navel-gazing back stories that IIzuka and the like have woven; for better or for worse.

Re: Sonic Unleashed?
Considering this is (sort of) the current Sonic Team setup's first attempt at a full game I'd say it was an impressive attempt. The key positions are held by people who mainly worked on chao gardens in the past so they obviously bounced ideas off of each other back then. The game is techinically imp...

Re: Sonic Unleashed?
I'm glad Sega Studios USA have been laid to rest. That team is responsible for a rather large nadir in the series that I think we are only just beginning to climb out of.

Re: Sonic Unleashed?
I'd say Unleashed has most of the same flaws and strengths as SA2. Personally I'd put it slightly below SA2 in the gameplay department because I prefer tedious treasure hunting and shooting to tedious werehog gameplay. Where it beats SA2 for me is in art style and charm. I'd recommend it as a good, ...

Never realised how skewed games "journalism" can be. Sonic Unleashed is a high quality game and deserves none of the bashing that previous installments warrant.

Re: Sonic Unleashed?
So I wonder if the original plan for the game was to have day/night speed stages for normal Sonic before the werehog was concocted. Mazuri has a sunset/sunrise act and this Mazuri night section doesn't appear in the final game;it's clearly Sonic's level at night: http://files.xboxic.com/xbox-360/son...

Looks familiar. I also find that every time you have a cleanup and remove various appliances, the buildup happens again. I must also compliment hamster sixth sense as despite my hamster chewing everything he gets his wee pinky hands on, he never chews wires.

With the announcement of the second game in the storybook series of Sonic games, it hasn't taken long for future planned titles in the series to be revealed. Re: Sonic Unleashed?
Those pesky emeralds always go missing; seems like each continent has secured their own emerald for their own gain.
