I just don't see the appeal of these games when the glorious Crackdown did it two years ago with far more style and charm.

Humans appearing in Sonic Adventure was the biggest change from the 16-bit games for me. In the past Sonic seemed to live outside of the human world with the cities far in the distance. I don't thnk they're really necessary and furries outside of the immediate cast are not desirable either.

It's almost like a complete stylistic and plot-wise reboot of the series. They've comletely disregarded the the angsty, navel-gazing back stories that IIzuka and the like have woven; for better or for worse.

I'm glad Sega Studios USA have been laid to rest. That team is responsible for a rather large nadir in the series that I think we are only just beginning to climb out of.

I'd say Unleashed has most of the same flaws and strengths as SA2. Personally I'd put it slightly below SA2 in the gameplay department because I prefer tedious treasure hunting and shooting to tedious werehog gameplay. Never realised how skewed games "journalism" can be. Sonic Unleashed is a high quality game and deserves none of the bashing that previous installments warrant.

Not since Sonic the Comic do I recall hearing this.

So I wonder if the original plan for the game was to have day/night speed stages for normal Sonic before the werehog was concocted.
