Re: 11 Years
That bad? Really!? I've always heard Sonic Unleashed described as a "not-quite-perfect" return to form, and even then I heard that it was just the Werehog stages which ruined the game and that the standard Sonic gameplay was near perfect. I guess those reviews were from the "will play anything mode...

Does anybody actually enjoy raiding? It's seems to be a niche hobby even among WoW players.

Re: The best Sonic game would be a Sonic MMO.
All that's really required for a good MMO is a lively and interesting overworld. The Sonic universe has literally hundreds of incredibly diverse locations to draw from, and the continuity is so loose that any developer could rewrite it from scratch and come up with something entertaining. We all kno...

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
Now that initial cynicism has been expressed, I feel the need to state the obvious and point out we ALL saw this coming a mile away and that this is also probably SEGA's best chance at making a classic Sonic game for years, arguably for over a decade. That trailer revealed absolutely nothing (other ...

Re: Sonic's Future Confirmed: expect more of the same
Sonic has lasted so long since he's obviously a character with tremendous appeal. It's hard to define exactly what that appeal is since he's gone through so many design changes, but Sonic has had one of, if not the most dedicated fanbase of any video game character ever. For whatever reason, even th...

I guess I was the only one who thought BioWare was a terrible match from the start, then.

And puzzle games. I love a good puzzler, and recall Gibbon proclaiming Puyo Puyo Tsu as the pinnacle of the series. The Saturn-exclusive Puyo Puyo was Puyo Puyo SUN which was I gather had the best sense of humour in the series although it's hard to tell being entirely in Japanese. Oh and it introdu...

Re: Attention New Members
Is it possible to clear the stage without meeting the barrel? I remember dying a couple of times but I don't remember ever actually solving it. I think I got someone to airlift me as Tails or something, but then again I'm not sure that's enough to get you out. Carnival Night was possibly my least fa...

Nope. I didn't pay much attention either, but as I recall it became very obvious that the prosecution had no real evidence.Oompa Star wrote:I never paid much attention to the drama but was he ever actually found guilty of any of those child molestation charges?

Re: Hypothetical Sonic Adventure Remake
Knuckles' story is about finding all of the emerald pieces. When the game is suddenly contradicting itself by asking you not to have to find them all to progress the story, it stops making any sense. I was under the impression that Knuckles found most of the emerald pieces between missions off-scre...

Re: Hypothetical Sonic Adventure Remake
I actually thought it was Knuckles who had the weakest game out of all the characters in SA. In fact I don't think Knuckles has ever really done well in any 3D Sonic game. Between Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails you have 3 very similar character mechanics, but Knuckles seemed to have the least interestin...

Re: Super Ultra Mario Party Land World Bros. Sunshine Galaxy II
I didn't really think Galaxy needed a sequel. This new one seems to continue the trend of really creative level designs and sort of uninspired bosses, to the point where it's basically an expansion pack, but still that's not such a bad thing. Galaxy was the first Mario game to have a subtle and mild...

Re: Samus in Ninja Gaiden
If the rumors are true, they're heading up the new first-person Zelda for the Wii. I am excited. Also I think the Metroid universe is flexible enough to allow a more combat based brawler. It just might not be a very good idea from a gameplay standpoint as it does sort of disregard most of what Metr...

She looks pretty petite to me. I'll probably skip this one anyway since the only Metroid game I was even a little bit into was the first Prime. Admittedly I thought it was one of the best games ever, but since I have completely failed to replicate the same feelings with any prior or later entries to...

Re: More Mario & Sonic at the Olympics?
Alright, who here likes Brawl and who doesn't? I want the truth. The European launch for Brawl was fucked up - we had to wait like 6 months for a translation, and it was supposed to be Nintendo's triumphant first foray into semi-competitive online gaming. Aside from the fact we had to face the rest...

Isn't this sort of thing, like, humiliating for the Japanese? I seem to recall being demoted to a position of "diminished capacity" being used before on developers who failed their company, and resignation/retirement being an embarrassing process in general.

Re: SEGA teases new project on Japanese site : "Project Ringo"
http://puyo.sega.jp/puyopuyo7/ The gimmick this time around is that characters can change the size of their puyos either smaller or larger (this also appears to change the characters themselves into baby/adult versions respectively). The larger puyos seem to be taken directly from 15th's Large Puyo ...

Puyo Puyo Tsuu is vastly superior to Mean Bean Machine, and not just aesthetically either. The game mechanics are very different and it's much more well balanced and challenging.

Minish Cap had the same number of dungeons as the Wind Waker, had about the same amount of secrets and sidequests and there was an emphasis on exploring the world (in two different layers, normal and Minish sized. Even bloody Tingle and his pack of palette swaps made it in. But it still failed to c...

Both Fever and 15th were online. There was just no online support outside of Japan. Until this gets a worldwide release date you probably shouldn't get your hopes up.

Re: "Sonic Chronicles" trademarked by Sega
Graphics I'll grant you (2.5D doesn't do it for me either) but the music?? I have extremely fond memories of the first Rush but I thought the second one was pretty mediocre. Most people seemed to like it better and I couldn't point to anything obvious in the game's design, so I guess 3 Advance games...
