Re: Nintendo Switch & Mario Adventure

I mostly play mine on the big screen. Breath of the Wild is the only game I have for it and it plays great. If I ever get my hands on a traveling case and a screen protector, maybe I'll bring it out more. I may just need to get over the newness factor before I can comfortably bring it out of the hou...

Re: Sonic 2017

The gameplay footage looks like regular 3D Sonic, like a homemade level for Generations on PC. It's too little and too blury to judge yet, but I've been really hankering for more of Generations-style gameplay so it sounds good so far. But yeah that level design is nothing we haven't seen before.

Holy fucking shit.
I tried this on M2'a 3D versions a second ago (both Japanese and international versions) and it didn't get me there.

Re: Los Angeles to become Sonic development hub

Certainly nothing but good times ahead. It sounds like the goal is to have a consistent level of quality while still allowing other developers to make Sonic games. So they aren't fully bringing in the reigns on non-Sonic Team games. They're just trying to prevent them from getting below modern Sonic...

I spent 40 hours on Rayman Legends (more time than any other game in the last year) getting to 100% and competing in daily challenges. I want to buy Fiesta Run, but I also feel like I've spent too much time looking at the same artwork.

Re: New Game by Prope: Sky Knight Rodea (Wii/3DS)

We probably would have gotten the game a long time ago if it weren't for it looking so dated before release. I'm guessing that's the main reason they held off on not releasing the completed game. Still having it come out as a Wii/WiiU bundle is a strange choice but I could see it giving people who h...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

All said and done I spent around 28 hours on the game. It didn't meet the expectations for a game following Generations and Colors and it has a low-budget feel, but i enjoyed its good parts. It's sold 650, 000 copies so it looks like it's gained an audience dispite the middle-ground reviews and repu...

The wisps are useless for the most part. Hopefully the ones that gained the support are easier to use with analog controls.

2 guys at my workplace bought a 4 and a One each for dat Madden ... And my roommate bought a PS4 with Need for Speed. I played it for a few minutes and the graphics are maybe slightly better than what's on PS3/360/U. The physics of destroying things into pieces seemed to go smoother than anything I'...

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

It is curious that for a series negatively associated with bottomless pits would come out with a game that have a good deal of levels that center around the idea. In fact the whole game is set high in the sky - everywhere you turn is a bottomless pit (though often just for visual effect).

Re: Sonic Lost World - Nintendo Exclusive

This is definitely worse than either Colors or Generations, but better than either episode of Sonic 4 or bottom-barrel stuff like Shadow or 06. So take that for what it's worth. I thought reviewers were being too harsh on it during the first 3 worlds, but being now on World 5 I can tell that it just...

Re: Mo' hardware, mo' problems

The thought of getting a One rather than a 4 is not off the table for me just yet. Right now Microsoft has the stronger exclusive software line-up (Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct, Crimson Dragon, Sunset Overdrive). The only games that One would not offer that I'm interested in getting are Second Son...

Re: Mo' hardware, mo' problems

I haven't played 3D Land, but the levels look incredibly flat. I thought this was just because of hardware limitations, but then Nintendo announces World. Mario Galaxy had planets that were rarely flat and they made enjoyable environments from that. The planes make it look so... plain. It does suit ...

Re: Mo' hardware, mo' problems

I really don't think $500 is that bad these days. Inflation can be taken into account - it's been 7 years since the price of the PS3 was announced. $499 is $432 in 2006 money. But I also just expect hardware to cost more these days. Maybe not being a college kid without a job anymore has a lot to do...

Dr.Bugman, I take it you're in Michigan as well? I was disappointed that I didn't get a "I Voted Today" sticker. Everyone else at work was wearing one, but they didn't give them out at the church I voted at. This was the first election that I wasn't excited to vote. I realized this after filling in ...

Wii U Launch

So the Wii U launch details came out this week and it's really quiet on the forum here. We should talk about it. Bayonetta 2 exists and it's a Wii U exclusive. I tried playing the first game on PS3 and just did not get into it. I know there's a lot of fans of the game here though. Pikmin 3 is not co...

Re: Dinsey's Wreck-It Ralph: A love-letter to videogames

The biggest problem of Brave was that it was marketed as a female gwar action woman Joan of Arc cum Lord of the Rings movie, when it's really not. I wanted the movie to go that way but it never did. They hinted at this huge world but it was actually much smaller. It's the opposite of Toy Story, whi...

Maybe they're aiming for a more balanced fighting game and feel that the Tekken team has a history with that (I've never been into Tekken, so I wouldn't know).

Between Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Tekken X Street Fighter, and now this it sure sounds like they have their hands full.

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012

This game's biggest flaw is that Generations exists. About the only thing Episode II has over Generations is a smoother framerate (at least when comparing the PS3 versions). I bought the game and played through it once along with the Episode Metal levels - slightly altered versions of 4 different ac...
